Difficult to say... but if you can fetch it at around 200 euros than you're not too bad off I guess. Make sure it is all in working condition.

Amiga with processor card is most expensive.
Drives are really cheap.
PicassoII is worth some many as well as OS3.9.

To be fair, the Warp Engine is worth £175.00 (228 Euro's) of anyones money.
It was the fastest Stock 040/40 card ever made, but you haven`t said what speed it was. 28Mhz is not worth the effort over a 25mhz & 33mhz is where most Full 25Mhz 040`s will go by swapping the Oscilator for a 66Mhz one.

Don`t feel ripped off handing over £350 to £450 for it all.
If its the Warp 040 @ 40Mhz, be sure its got 60ns ram fitted & get rid of the IDE drives. Replace them with the Fastest SCSI II or even SCSI III drives with 68 - 50 pin adapters. Totally CPU load free...where as IDE isn`t!  As a bonus, everything from the Hard Drives is straight into the CPU card. Aside from the CPU load caused by the IDE drives, you also have wait-states invoked while the data get`s buffered from the A4K IDE header, through the Motherboard & then into the CPU card. ;-)
Getting 0lder is Mandatory..... Growing up is an option.

I forgot to say, the whole lot is in a Micronic tower.

That sounds very low to me!  If it were on eBay the prices would be more like this: (all estimates in US dollars)

A4000D in decent condition should be worth at least $100.

WarpEngine 040/40mHz w/48mb RAM should be worth another $100 to $200 by itself.

PicassoII is another $150 to $200.

All Hard Drives combined aren't worth much, maybe $30

Octagon SCSI controller maybe $50

Hypercom card $20

Internal Zip drive $20

NEC monitor  $15 to $30

CDRW $20

Put everything together and I would say it should be worth around $450 to $650 if it is all in good working condition.
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

Normally, the sum of parts should be higher than the price of the total machine. And I said he wouldn't be too bad off if he could fetch it at 200 euro ;-).

One must keep in mind the circumstances the seller is in as well as how badly does he / she needs money. Also, has it been in storage for a long time and if it's a deal between friends. Sure, on eBay stuff goes at outrageous prices but the difference here is that the guy is being offered this system. What I did not know then, but know now, is that it isn'nt in it's original case. I was already wondering how on earth all those drives would fit into a Desktop :-). I agree on the point that the drives won't break the bank atm. He might even consider throwing out all and replace it by a flash-disk-IDE solution.

No matter what... when it comes to Amiga I think two things determine the price:
1) How badly does the buyer want the system?
2) How badly does the seller want to part with the system?
Then all that's left is the space in the bank-account of the buyer to get 1 and 2 to meet :-)

The harddrives and ZIP drive can be had for free if you look carefully for Apple users throwing their 8600/9600s out :-).

Yes, that's the one. The story goes.....

I had bid on it because it is just over a mile fromm me. With 5 minutes to go I was winning it at £195 and then another bidder came on  and outbid me. Inn the heat of the moment I put in a couple of more bids and it finished at £265 inn the other guys favour. I then got the following message a few hours after it ended from the seller. This was not a second chance offer.

"Just been advised by E-bay that you were outbid y by someone who had made unauthorised use of the winning bidder's account.E-b\y has withdrawn the listing completely therefore making it imossible to make a second chance provision. If you still wish to see workbench and game screens plse give me a call."

I called the guy and he said "oh yes you were outbid at the last minutte". We chatted and he  told me he stll has it and I can have it  for my last bid which was £260. I pointed out that my last bid before the bogus guy can along was £195 and he told me he wouldn't sell it to me for that. This whole thing  put me off but it has bee playing on  my mind since. I'm not out seeking another A4000, just that this was so close to home.

You beat me to it. I was just going to impart the same information   :rtfm:

Current bid is £7.16 - I think it'll sell for a lot more than that

Those towers are sweet...the 5ISA/ 7 Zorro II/III slot board in there served me flawlessly for years in mine with GGate and a bunch of Zorro stuff.

The Warp Engine '040 and SCSI is the dogs bollocks too...fast as lightning...I almost regretted giving mine up for the Cyberstorm '060

If it's an e-Bay auction, stick to your maximum and don't get emotions get in the way of what is possible. Afterall, seems like I was a bit off... ;-)

Be careful of contacting sellers that contact you after an auction.  There are many scammers that try to fool you into thinking they are the seller of the item and get you to send them money for something they do not have, then disappear.
