Charig the then CEO or "C" level executive of Taos started this ventue after Taos went under. It looks awfully like the whole AmiAnywhere stuff. The biggest difference is that at least this guy has a reputation for execution, Bill....well, you know.....

Actually, looking through their web site, this might as well be "Taos 2." The whole Taos management seems to have created this new entity. I wondered is the demise of Taos was related to poor contracts they could'nt back out of, and it was simpler to just start over. Hmmmmmm.

TAOS meet the competition:  LLVM.  For an OS: MacOSX, Linux, or Windows.  Preferably one of the first two since the Windows version is difficult to build.  More OSs to come also.  Licence:  3 clause BSD by another name.  Cost:  FREEWARE.  Used by Apple, Adobe, and many others.

My mate was in Barcelona and saw their stuff. It includes demos of games like SSX and Tiger Woods - heavy duty 3D. But they also told him they've got quite a lot of entry level phones. Motorola is the 1st announced customer but the engineer he spoke to told him there was another major manufacturer already working with them in addition to Motorola.

He also was told that they can support people on different devices playing multiplayer games. It looks a lot more advanced than Flash. Java could never do this.

Hey! I hear that if we wait long enough we'll be able to do Sudoku's on our PDA's - it's just around the corner I swear! Honest!

I'm just browsing over their products - a machine I can't buy - an OS I can't use - and a handful of yesteryears games I can play on windows or my cell phone...... for those days that I find watching paint dry particularly boring.

I wonder what new innovative thing they'll come out with - I have a great idea for 'Special Summer Olympics' or maybe 'Solitare Pong' - which is kind of like arkanoid without the bricks, you bounce a ball against a wall until you miss 3 times.....

Doesn't IP become PD in 17 years?  Wouldn't that pt virtually all the IP within a few years of becoming PD?
