Thanks, I registered so I could see the actual shipping costs. But about €450 is just too much, for that amount of money I can buy an Amiga 4000 in near mint condition, and yes, it's used, and has no warranty, but I can justify paying that amount for an Amiga 4000, not a new old stock A1200.
Then again, I just don't want to spend more then say €250 for an Amiga.

If you start to sell Acube's MiniMig, I'll be glad to buy it though.

Could you guys please start a new thread if you're going to discuss buying an Amiga? Let's keep this thread to LCD-TVs.

I know, I know. I was the first one to bring it up

This monitor seems to be unavaliable in the U.S.  :-(

That's because it's a PAL version only. You Americans are out of luck on this one because we use a different tv/video connector and signal, which happens to be compatible with the Amiga's rgb port. The so called SCART connector is absent on USA versions of LCD TV's

Sorry guys.

Just a little update. I eventually bought the Samsung SyncMaster 741MP. I have my PC on the VGA connector and the Amiga on the SCART. The VGA picture quality is superb. Best monitor I've had! The Amiga picture is very sharp, but it's a little "jittery". That means, it's not as rock solid as I had hoped. Interlaced resolutions looks as nasty as ever, so I'm running a normal Hires Workbench. I've overscanned it to 668x275 pixels in order to fill the screen properly. All in all I think it's as good as you can expect from normal AGA output.

Hi,

I'm also interessted in that TFT. :) Sounds like a perfect match for the Amiga...
One can connect GFX-Board to VGA and Monitor-Out to Scart. So if anything goes really bad, you will still see Early Startup Menu - at least I guess. :)
Can someone tell me, if the Samsung can make 50Hz on the VGA? I know the specs say no, but paper is patient. I found a HP recently that should sync at 60Hz, but does well with 50Hz.
As I do have a CV3D in my A1200, the resolution 1280x1024@50 is the max I can get out of it...

Mario

yes can you try it with an RGB to VGA adaptor and connect to the VGA port of the monitor to see if the Amiga's PAL output shows up

This is one of the reasons I have gone for DVI out on the FPGAARCADE board (it has analogue as well). You can connect the DVI out with a cable to the HDMI input of a digital telly, and it "should" work at standard PAL/ NTSC resolutions - I haven't tried this as I haven't finished the board yet :)

It's also a lot easier to scan double digitally the DVI out for a normal monitor than do it in analogue land.

/Mike

Well,

I am speaking of a simple, connect Amiga gfx-board to VGA. No need to buy any adapters... :) And then, of course, use a 50HZ reoslution.

For US users wanting to use an Amiga on modern 32" lcds or any TV or LCD capable of accepting HDMI...

Why not try the following setup:

NTSC Amiga with a scart RGB cable connected to:

DVD Recorder with a Scart Input and an Component or HDMI out to a modern TV. Sinc these recorders are designed to record any signal in pal or NTSC from mulitple formats (s-video, RCA, SCart, Component) maybe they can promote the Amiga RGB to a LCD.

I have a Direct TV HD box that has mulitple input capabilities and can take the A1200's composite and scale it to an VGA monitor. Granted composite is not sharp at all but imagine how much clear a Scart Signal would be.

Has anyone tried this?

I've got LG Flatron L173ST.

It does also have RGB capable Scart connector. The picture is sharp, although on bigger surfaces of the same color you can see some pixel noise. The border between colors is crystal sharp, though. And the best thing - you can use laced screen modes without the picture quality suffering. :)

Here's a picture of my setup. Looks better IRL. Mobile cams do have their limits.
