A couple of notes on these Samsung monitors listed on the BBOA, since I just picked up a 171MP off the bay:
They will line-double non-laced modes, but they will not deinterlace -- laced modes still flicker and look terrible (similar effect as a 1084/etc).
Composite is also worthless.
On my NTSC unit, PAL screens are not displayed correctly at all. So these monitors are not both PAL/NTSC, only either/or.
The *only* thing that is acceptable is standard non-laced NTSC modes via the "D-TV" (VGA style HD) jack. However, there is at times a weird flicker, even then. So for us NTSC folk, they're essentially pointless for many games and pretty much all demos.
On a positive note, the interpolation (as usual with Samsungs) is very good, and non-native resolutions (that work) look just fine.
(Bummer to shell out so much $$$ experimenting the last year, trying to find a decent modern display... and finding my best options are a crappy old 1084 or WinUAE.)
