I imagine that 640x512 overscan is pretty close to 800x600.

Let's see. Overscan of 320x256 was 384x288, so 768x576.

I bet there's a 32 pixel black border on either side, and 24 pixel border on the top and bottom of the display. Not ideal, but otherwise the pixels should be crystal clear (on an 800x600 or 1600x1200 display).

I imagine that the interlace issue is also not a problem now (i.e., no flickering) if the minimig is clever enough to output interlace screens as non-interlace. Can anyone confirm this?

Must get myself one once they're available ready-made...

Hi,

Here's mine:

Is there any difference between the ACube minimig, and the 'original' developer's one (except price)?

Supporting the developer is one (good) reason, but if the two boards are same, it's hardly explainable buying the more expensive one from the developer.

@sirkope

ACube Systems apparently produced their Minimigs according to the original design by the developer Dennis van Weeren. He doesn't sell any Minimig boards, you'l have to build them yourself like wizard66, who already made like 8 Minimigs by hand! :-o :-D

MiniMig includes "Amber" emulation so it shows flicker-free screens. It would be a nice option if it could double vertically the resolution. It probably wouldn't work well with TFT monitors but would look great with CRTs :-)

S-Video output would also rock.
