You have a 1200 with HD. If that floppy drive is bust, you can try cleaning it and look for the pins that check for write protection. They can get stuck when dirty.

If that fails you can buy a replacement drive from Amigakit or just swap drives with the 600.

you can get a paralell cable but you need a HD "to transfere files". If no hd i dont see any other use than a games machine using floppy... If you have a hd or even CFcard with CF-ide adapter it will open new worlds for your amiga . Then you can get a PCMCIA - CF card reader and transfere files the same way you would do with a USB stick PCorMAC-AMIGA. Also classic wb would be worth installing can be found here Maybe a Cdrom could be connected but everything require HD for pleasent operation..Do know that some kickstart revisions of A600 may not allow a HD at all ...

EDIT: Back in the day a Harddrive was as big upgrade as extra memory and acc board .. I remember getting a Hd for our a500 It was a huge thing  :lol: alot of frinds did envy me...  :-P  :-P

The A600 has kickstart .350 so its ok.
And I have a HD i have a Paralell cable right here so how do i bridge the PC to the Amiga? (remember i have no way of putting software on the A1200_

If you have no way of putting software on your amiga 1200 there are no options. get a external floppydrive or take a drive from a amiga 500 or something, external drives are still cheap ... Or transfere The HD from your amiga 1200 i dont see any problems ... Later when you require more simply upgrade the amiga 1200 with a new Hd about 2 gigs would be enugh... You can copy Fat95 over to the amiga i can mail you some disks to get you started if you want "feebies" such as cable transfere software. You can read pc floppys on amiga too with crossdos and fat95 so there are several ways..

Oh i ment by not being able to put nothing on it because i have no way to put stuff on 2 floppy or connect the Amiga to PC.

I said it was free diddent i :-D Expect nothing to happne before 1st january though i work around the clock at the moment at a riggyard and this is far from home. I am just  happy i have my own office with internet  :lol: But when the post office is open i can not go there  :-( and all my stuff is back home ...

Well at least I get 2 open a Amiga on Xmas day.
And that  A600 is pretty much the same as mine apart from 3.1 ROM and HD.
But i dont mind i think OS2 will run quickly/quicker than 3.1 on the A600 anyday!

how good will that be on as a1200?
will it work with a a500 psu?
How fast will it be with os 3.9?

Wow great Christmas for you! When I was your age I only got a book each year, ha ha!

An 060 will be fast. The bottleneck will be AGA. Should work with an A500 PSU.

OS3.9 in AGA will work fine.

i'm running an a1200 with apollo 1240, 10 gig drive and squirrel scsi on a stock a500 power supply with no problems :)
