Contacted RealSoft about Real3D - Please see
« on: November 15, 2007, 03:32:15 PM »
Hi I've contacted RealSoft to see if they would let me have a copy of Real3D version 2 (or anything later than 1.4). Looks like this is freeware now, has anyone got a copy, please read, thanks:

My Message1:
>Hi, I'm an Amiga enthusiast, and wondered if there was a free version
 of
>Real3D version 2 I could Have?
>I currently have version 1.4.

The Reply1
Sorry, but we do not support the Amiga platform any more.
For your information, you will get a good discount if you decide to upgrade
to one of the new supported platforms (Linux, Mac, Windows).
Kind regards,
Vesa Meskanen
Realsoft Graphics

My Message2:
Hi,
Ok, but have you got an old copy on your server you could email?
is this now freeware?

The Reply2
Unfortunately we do not have it available any more. It is indeed now freeware, so you can freely use the Amiga version if you manage to find one from the Internet.

I'm surprised RealSoft is still in business!

I have had difficulty determining what the latest/last version of Real3D was for the Amiga - anybody know? I have version 2.4, looks like I can't get updates from RealSoft, they have gone Soft.

Maybe we could obtain "official" permission and then upload it to Aminet?

Just a thought.

That really good of them, maybe you should ask if a copy could be uploaded to Aminet.

Their product is now called Realsoft 3D there were plans to make an OS4 version, but it looks like that fell through.

That sounds like a plan ;)

Could the original poster please forward the two mails to aminet@aminet.net (or post them here), so we can directly contact the person you talked to?

If somebody has a complete copy of the latest full version (I wouldn't even know what version number that would be), please upload it to Aminet. Uploading a readme isn't neccessary, but if you upload only the readme please either post here or drop us a mail so we know what's up.
