Genesis/megadrive pads and A1200
« on: October 19, 2007, 02:56:25 AM »
Hi folks,

this probably sounds like a stupid question, but what's the situation with megadrive gamepads and classic amigas, A1200 and A500 etc. I hear they work on the CD32. However I seem to remember "back in the day" that it was said they needed a wire swapping round or something for using on an Amiga...

Anyhoo, can someone set me straight on how they work, plug and pray? What buttons work? on a 3 button? 6 button?

are the buttons mapped "right" if using one for a CD-32 game?

are there any utils for assigning more than 2 buttons for other games?

Just dug a 3 button pad out and was curious...

thanks for any hints, kinda ignored gamepads before, I hearted my Quickshot 2.

They'll work out of the box as 1 button controllers, and with some games as 2 button (Lionheart, Alladin, Turrican 3, etc.).  Using all 3 (or 6) buttons requires modifications.
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(
