ADF WOESiiss is MEEEeeeee...
« on: September 26, 2007, 03:49:46 PM »
Hi all!

I've got many ADF files on my PC and i can't figure out the best way to get them back onto one or all of my Amigas...

This ADF thing is a new bird for me?<

(Thing is, how can i convert the ADF file back to an Amiga disk/HD.. But take into account I have wb 3.1 and 2 disk drives and a cdrom on my 2000..

Whats the simplistest way to convert adf's back over to the Amiga 3.1..

Joe..

There are plenty of ADF programs on Aminet that will sort that out for you.
They can just unpack an ADF file to an Amiga floppy.
UnADF and Packmaster together will sort that out.
There are lots of others.

You can use Crossdos to format a disk on you Amiga that can be read by both the Amiga and PC.

You see thats the problem
I have download a few on Aminet with no joy..
So I wanted to talk to someone who is using a particular adf unpacker that knows the steps and the specific program..

I have tried 2-3 of them and they are not meant for 3.1

If the A2k doesnt have a networking card.. then the BEST thing is PC2Amiga on aminet.  its a little slow but you can transfer all of your stuff back and forth.  you can do the messydos/crossdos thing but I dont know if a ADF image will fit under 720k (unless your A2k has a HD floppy).

Have you actually managed to get the ADFs on to your Amiga yet?

You could always burn the adf's to cdr then plonk that into your a2000. then use something like adf blitzer to tsgui, both work well..

use a cdrw if your drive will read it, saves wasting cdr's.

Yep, I did this for a year before I had a network card - it works great!  A compressed ADF will fit on a 720K disk provided .. well it compresses to under 720K.
