bigger HD help
« on: September 21, 2007, 01:25:16 AM »
I am trying to put a bigger IDE drive in the 4000T but it is giving me a headache  :madashell:

I am using OS3.9 and using the emergency disk. I install to a 13 gig IDE HD and set it to bootable. I then install OS3.9 and everything goes fine. When I reboot it won't boot up instead I see the insert disk screen.
I have tried this with a known working 162 meg IDE and it does the same thing but if I hit reset it boots up? Almost like the spin up isn't quick enough on these drives. But yet on OS 3.1 the 162 meg drive work fine?

Some HD simply refuse to work on Amigas. Don't ask why, I dunno.

I think there is some bad implentation of the IDE-ATA standards on those drives.

Goodbye people.

I\'ll pop on from time to time, RL is acting up.
