Question about my precious amiga 500
« on: August 30, 2007, 10:17:51 AM »
Hi, my good people!

I have a problem: I've never been a technical person, so I need some help with my good ol' Amiga 500. I have a lot of games, most of them work fine, but all my favorit games don't work.. Typical!

These games are:

- Moonstone
- Sensible soccer
- Nitro
- North & south

Does anyody have any idea how I can get these games?

Hi,

I don't think you will get help with obtaining pirated copies in this forum.
However, the original Moonstone is extremely expensive, fetching prices well above 200 USD.

Where are you located? Your name looks Norwegian.

How much memory do you have?? Standard A500 is 0.5mb, A500+ is 1mb.

I would imagina nitro and north & south would run on 0.5mb but moonstone and sensible soccer may require 1mb.

Otherwise your disks may be corrupt.

Doh!.. i did not see that you were requesting games..

Could you be more specific on term "not working" ?
Those games...ever worked on your A500 or just stopped working ?

Besides disk corruption which is a prime suspect, can you at least disclose Kickstart version ?
KS 2+ is known as a showstopper for fair percentage of OCS games...

It seems to me that from his explanation...:
- He has always had the same A500
- Games (disks) which were working on this same A500 are not working anymore.
- Where can he obtain said games?

I don't think it's a matter of chipset, kickstart version or ram amount. He just wants fresh copies of those games. Should be very doable, but not in this forum.  :-)

Actually, my friend who got me into Amigas around 1989-1990 also played Moonstone, Nitro and North & South a lot. His name was Knut.
The only thing which didn't match was the soccer.

You've got to be out of your mind. NO game could possibly be worth that much.
Amiga 3000D UP and running! Hear that clicking. 8)
Amiga 3000D & 4000D in storage sadly.

Would there be a problem for him to download or obtain cracked versions of said games if he owns the original box/disks?  I don't see an issue with that, but that's me.
Going Bananas over AMIGAs since 1987...

Apparently telling him where to look is not allowed on A.org..

Personally Google has always worked for me :)
