@Voodoo

Cheers mate, I had read that and already deleted it when testing previous versions.
Didn't work then and doesn't work on the latest one either.
Any other ideas?

1) Real or emulated? If emulated, usergroup.library in AmiTCP:Libs/ ?

2) Any firewall installed that will prevent LAN connections to port 123?

3) @hotmail.com, @msn, or @somethingelse account?

With some further info and testing I should be able to get it going for you.

Stevo, can you run VintEval and see if it crashes on your system? I can't remember if it was just AOS4.

VooDoo, you can use BlackIRC/WookieChat/AmIRC. Check the readme.

Heck YES!

I like your program so much I registed the name AmiMSN at yahoo.com! (Over a year ago maybe longer now, time flies when you get old :-) )  That's actually one of my MSN account login emails ;-)

What is MSN good for? Well, isn't it the most popular chat program at the moment?

Well, in other platforms it may be the most popular chat program because it supports some sort of video streaming. You can see the person you are talking to. (I hope i'm not spreading cr*p right know, since i don't have any experience in other platforms)
On AmigaOS/MOS? I don't think so. At least not for me and for many other Amiga users. The IRC is the most popular protocol, afaik.

Anyhow, to answer your initial question: I would be interested in it if it would support that missing feature. Otherwise not.
If i want to communicate with someone, i will use the e-mail. If i want to do it in real-time, i will just use the IRC. Because there are good Amiga IRC clients and because i'm used to it.

Agreed for the most part.

.. but this is for people who have friends with PC's that don't know how to use anything else.

I dunno.  I noticed earlier in the thread a mention of an "stunnel" file.  If this is using SSL, it probably does require the 020 and an FPU for any semblance of speed.

I have a Solaris 7 machine running on a 40MHz SPARC.  OpenSSL 0.9.8f speed on this is fair and usable if you don't mind waiting several seconds (between four and 10) to validate a 1024 bit SSL certificate.  Then communication over an SSL channel can consume a notable amount of CPU resources.

Not saying it cannot be done on a plain-Jane 68k, obviously it can as the AmiSSL libraries based on OpenSSL 0.9.7g have a compile for 68k, I just have to wonder about performance at 7MHz.

Please.. don't. I can not imagine that there is a single Amiga user who is still running apps on a 68000...

@ least in Brazil we use MSN network quite often.

Some ppl prefer Google Talk or Y!IM, but they are not the majority.

 Keep the good work!
Goodbye people.

I\'ll pop on from time to time, RL is acting up.

People actually use MSN? On any system?? I dont think I know a single MSN user on Amiga, PC, Windows, Mac, Linux, VAX, anything. While I'm all for writing tools to enable minority systems like Amiga and Linux to access proprietary networks and programs, MSN wouldnt be my first choice.

That said, if you're doing it, why not continue? Even if it doesnt get much use, it sounds like a good mental challenge, and it may benefit someone.

Pretty much everyone I know is on MSN
I guess it depends what part of the world you are from

But I'd safely say that here in the UK MSN is the No.1 IM by a mile.

And it is for that reason I beg you developer to continue!

Spirituality is for people who have been there.

As somebody who is just getting back to the Amiga again I would be very interested in AmiMSN, I use msn messenger all the time and so do my mates so being able to chat to them on the Amiga would make my world so much easier.
