I do not understand this... there are people outside in the community that formed a company, that setup a real board (yes, jens s. saw it and made picture!), that made a loader for the mac mini... and AInc. is blocking...

On the other side they want to do something for the community with ACK together...   Where we never saw a picture or something else... adam is still printing the manuals for the ready powervixxen...

If the Amiga would be in hands like from the ACube people, we would really have fun with this system...

BILL FOR PRISON!!!

there's nothing incomprehensible here. If they let MacMini run OS4, who're they gonna sell their overpriced overhyped (vapor)hardware ?

Isn't that just a CROCK! Mac peeps also love to install alternative OS's! So do PC and Amiga peeps! We all do! I do believe that Bill has turned to the dark side or some evil corporate, cash providing, instant cash cow (that last comment was just anecdotal conjecture)... ;-)

We, the Rebel Alliance, must use THE FORCE and convey to Bill that we are willing to pay $$ for an OS4 Mac PPC package! Among other ports!

A500: 2MB Chip, 8MB Fast, IndiECS, MiniMegi, IDE4ZorroII on Z-500, KS1.3/KS3.1, WB3.1&BWB

Don't waste your time wishing he will burn anywhere.  We just need to figure out a way to convince him to release OS4 for the Mac (all models).  Maybe it would actually sell enough copies to pay everyone who worked on it that way and actually make a profit.

Selling it only for proprietary hardware just isn't going to cut it.  Specially when that hardware is under powered and over priced and won't run any other OSes that actually have a full complement of modern software programs.
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

Because Amiga Inc. wants complete control over the AmigaOS and then IMPOSE the agreement conditions and the royalties that they want to manufacturers.

This could be an hanging-on-the-rope situation, and this fact could let Acube Systems and other Amiga manufacturers to abandon Amiga market...

Sure Bill Mc. Ewen has no clue on how to make money from Amiga market.

He prefer far better to pick money from OBSCURE investors and support only the infamous futile Amiga Anywhere (Amiga Nowhere).

And remember that Acube offered 3 products to Amiga Inc.

1) Samantha Sam 440EP motherboard

2) Moana AmigaOS loader on Macintosh

3) AmigaOS for Classic Amigas equipped with PPC boards

This latter product was in co-operation with Hyperion. Hyperion just made it and ACube offered to sell it worldwide as being official reseller for Hyperion products.

Amiga Inc. had nothing to do except than count money from royalties of Hyperion and ACube...

How stupid they are. They could make money doing nothing!

But seems they want to eat ALL THE CAKE, and leave no bits to other people...

Or perphaps some people (me included) starting thinking that Amiga Inc. wants only that Amiga will die slowly of starvation and disappear from the market!

This is because THE NAME AMIGA, and its presence on the market it is DISTURBING for other platforms...

Amiga it is a milestone! Other platforms disagree that Amiga is used as a term of comparison to judge their useless Operating Systems and or platforms.

These firms don't want that users start thinking that the computer market could be far different with the presence of Amiga!

(i.e. lighter computers running a small footprint powerful OS which consumes NO RESOURCES...

Not to mention that AmigaOS it is easy to use for the beginner, easy to manage, and difficult to be hacked because you have all the system under your control)    :-P
Que viva el Amiga!

I think Bill needs to just leave the Amiga scene and let someone else take the wheel.  He's a HUGE let down from all stand points and all he's doing is destroying the few remaining users out there.... Maybe he's secretly working for MicroSoft and Apple to totally get rid of us :-D  :-D  :-D

I have a PPC mini, but tbh, unless OS4 could dual boot flawlessy without breaking OSX, I wouldnt bother.

I think I'm very much over the whole new AmigaOS thing.

Port OS4 to MacMini?  I am ok with that just for fun........but as far as selling it?

What do you want to do?  make Amiga OS look stupid? OS4 is nowhere near ready for any kind of competition with OSX whatsoever.

It might be better than any AmigaOS we currently have, but it aint gonna kick any kind of Butt!.

What we need is a REAL Amiga machine with the OS.
CD32 is actually the best Amiga ever made by Commodore!...

It's all about how the distrubtion would be packaged...

OS4 by itself in a plain vanilla distribution won't appeal to mac users...

BUT a version that has say the top 20 RETRO Amiga Games, The top 5 Amiga apps, (demo versions) and PPC ports of a couple of games. Plus Retro related Amiga reslated historical content wuld be good also.

Think of how Cloanto does Amiga Forever.

This could be a good casual buy some for Mac users ifpackaged well. Mac instructors and Mac Photoshop experts I've dealt wih have always had good things to say about Amiga.

$30 item via online download.

Ideally something that Wall Mart or Target would buy is ideal...

The worst part of all this is that a TOY company with Amiga's OS and IP would have jumped on this long ago...
Creating somekind of TV game or kids console.

Just one order from WalMArt or Target pays for development...If you get re-orders it's all gravy.

I think Mr. Bill is just getting a fat paycheck for being the custodian of the Amiga IP. I've known folks like this who get thier company purchased and get a nice VP postion with a FAT paycheck and a nice 9 to 5 workday. AND NO WORRIES...

Why strain yourself and release any actual product, that's an awful lot of work.
