Snow

Eddie "The Eagle" Edwards.

I thought the lyric was (The police)"Whipped down my pants, looked up my bottom".

Nope.  Although that would make better sense.

Ok, I've had a listen to Wonderland...  think it's pretty atrocious... She Falls Asleep Pt1 is nice, since it breaks the monotony of the album... but is ruined by She Falls Asleep Pt2 which while lyrically is actually rather listenable... suffers from the singer's lack of range/ability...

Musically it lacks any thing exciting. It seems unfocused in style, as if the songs are made up from the off cuts of other songs... which I find distracting
And a major grip for me is poor quality vocals...

I don't mean to sounds arrogant, but when it comes to music I'm really pedantic :-)

Well, I agree that there is no definite style to the album, but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. Sure there are a couple of lemons on there (I've Got You for ex), but I actually found some of the music very interesting (example: the harmonies in All About You are quite enticing when they start opposing each other, and the orchestration in She Falls Asleep is lovely). I also think some of the lyrics are quite clever, especially in The Ballad of Paul K.

I know it's no masterpiece. But I think in its way it's quite charming, and I was surprised to find that I like it. And don't get me wrong, I'm not in to pop music *at all*. I'm also very critical of music and consequently my music collection is very small (because it's rare that I find an album interesting enough to listen to more than once).

I should also add that I didn't actually buy it - before someone accuses me of browsing the boy bands in HMV

Cannon Fodder's avatar rocks...

Must find a "Cooperman" one now, or better still a pic of Bella Emberg.

I'm listening to The Vines a lot at the moment, interspersed with Radiohead, Thom Yorke, The Prodigy, Oskar and Zero 7. Less often I listen to Aerosmith, Kula Shaker, Blur, Hard-Fi, Faithless, KT Tunstall and a few more. I also listen to orchestral music when the mood takes me (not very often).

Nothing there to suggest you'd find anything interesting in Wonderland...

I know, that's why I was so surprised that I did. Especially seeing how I hate the music of their peers (Busted et al). Oh, and add Skunk Anansie to my list as I have just rediscovered Paranoid & Sunburnt :-)
