RamLib error ?
« on: April 21, 2007, 04:04:21 PM »
Hi all,
I am getting this ramlib error on my system as soon as I boot.

#80000003 guru

I am running OS3.9 with BB1 and BB2. I Installed PageStream 3.0i then rebooted and got the problem.
I have gone to the S:UserStartup and put a comma in front of the assigns to make the Amiga think its not there but I still get the error and can not go any further.

I am pretty sure I don`t think its PageStream 3.0i thats doing it, this may be pure coincidence.
I am lost on this so a little help will be appreciated please.
I can not even get into any part of Workbench to try SnooDOS or even see any thing else.
I have tried a floppy boot disk to look at the S:Startup-Sequence and S:UserStartup but all looks fine.

TIA,
Mike.

IIRC PageStream install/overwrite something on the system (don't remember now what)

Take a look at the install script

Ok I took a look at the Install script but could not see any thing there.
I made a backup up of OS3.9 in a Work Partition and replaced all the Libs with the backup Libs and now it works fine.

I just don`t know what was the exact cause of it.

Watch your classes.  I installed ImageFX and it replaced some items in the classes directory causing a crash at boot-up.  Fun times.

Yes it would be so nice if some if these Install programs would let you know what is being overwritten or replaced, giving you the choice to say yes or no.
I know that some actually do that but its a pain in the A*** when they don`t.

There have been times in the past when I felt like kicking it all over the place then throwing myself of a tall building.
