you took down the thread and pics just because they told you to?  I would have left it all up until I was told to LEGALLY by a JUDGE.  Give me the stuff and I'll host it on my personal webserver.  I guarantee you it will stay up. :)

About Amiga Inc.

If I remember well they acquired IP of Amiga from Gateway...

But Gateway didn't sell it if I remember well!

Gateway just licensed the Amiga intellectual properties it to Amiga Inc.

(they even keep some patents of Commodore for their own purposes.)

So Amiga Inc, got the IP of Amiga within certain terms of use, including THEY HAVE ALL EXCLUSIVE RIGHTS ON IT.

Now I wonder if the contract between Gateway and Amiga Inc. has some expiration date...

And what about if there is a time limit? 20 years? 25 years?

Then any manufacturer could ask Gateway to acquire Amiga IP and technologies and bypass Amiga Inc...

If this scenario could beacame real, then anybody (even a community) could acquire Amiga technologies.
Que viva el Amiga!
Long Life the Amiga!
Vive l\'Amiga!
Viva Amiga!

I don't think that Kent center is a big deal. Isn't Bill McEven a local of the area ? Probably he got some contacts and maybe some 'cracknut' amiga fans helped him get the deal. I don't think he spent big bucks for it, it feels like they're trying to put a 'we're a big company' image.

If you read the news article, then you would know what they paid.. Basically Amiga INC offered to pay $300000 a year for the naming rights. So basically a million for 3 years then..

I have just dug out a video of my A1200 booting from my custom 3.9 ROMs. You can download the video here. (4.5MB, MP4). If AInc want to contact me and tell me which law(s) I have broken, my email address is in my a.org profile.

Understood and agreed. But there shouldn't be too much doubt about the terms as revealed by Kent's city officials.

"Three days after announcing that software maker Amiga Inc. bought the naming rights to Kent's proposed multipurpose arena, city officials revealed the terms of the deal -- $10 million over 20 years.
The city will receive $2.5 million from Amiga upfront upon the start of construction, said Ben Wolters, Kent's economic development director."

Yes, and I never said something to the community. :(

I am sorry, but after receiving the letter from redsmith.com I was really in fear... They even send the criminal police to me, after they have seen that they have no chance on the legal court way, telling them I have disabled the copy protection from OS3.9 and spreading it!!!!!!!!!  :madashell:

We have done only legal thing using fully bought and licenced things like kickstart 3.1 & os3.9!

Bill asked me to setup a professional business plan for selling kickstart 3.9. If it would be possible to sell 500 units, this would be fantastic! But I have to sold them for 10.000 dollar each unit to to fulfill the claims as AInc them want (500.000 dollar business). This was impossible and still is...

I asked Bill this, after that I never received an email from him...

Think what you want, if someone want to host the video, please contact me...
