It's always nice to provide your potential customers with something potentially clickable.

buster shape question
« Reply #2 on: March 03, 2007, 10:07:32 PM »
Do the Buster chips not have the same general shape over all the revisions? The buster being sold here is rectanglar whereas the superbuster I just sold is a square. I wonder what matter it made for them to change the shape so dramatically.

The Buster and SuperBuster are basically completely different chips other than they both handle bus arbitration.  Even with the same form factor, they wouldn't be cross compatible.  In a way, it's good that they did change the shape, it eliminates the temptation for people to try it.  ;-)

I believe Super Buster is for Amiga 3000 and possibly 4000 only. Buster supports only ZorroII while super buster supports Zorro II and III and is therefore a more complex chip.

I wonder if chips like that need to be sold in a group instead of individually. At least, if you want to get rid of them fast. Otherwise you end up storing things for 5 years waiting for the right person to stumble upon your adverts... like me.   But, at last I'm wittling down my collection. Amiga stuff needs owners that use them, not keep them in closets.  :violin:

Hurry up people! Only 7 hours left!

I still have:

5 x 8364 Rev7 Paula 48 DIP for Amiga 500 1000 2000 3000

10 x 8362 Rev8 OCS Denise 48 DIP for Amiga 500 1000 2000

5 x 8361 rare original Agnus 48 DIP for Amiga 1000

3 x 5721 Buster 48 DIP for Amiga 2000

2 x 5719 Gary 48 DIP for Amiga 500 2000

Considering the very low price at which I offered them, if they don't sell then I will trash them.

I'm tired of hearing the "they're going to the trash" excuse.

If you want to sell something quick, you lower the price or make a more attractive package, you don't "force" the sale with such words.

If you were going to trash them, you would have done it anyways; certainly much easier than trying your luck on eBay.

But even if they don't sell and you want to get rid of them, there's an easier way still (and one every TRUE Amigan would chose, because you know full well you can't throw away something sacred :-D ): you'd pass them on. Basically you ask in the forum and I'm sure someone will pay the shipping charges for you to send them to him/her.

Bet it won't happen though.

I would be interested in some of these ICs for a lower price or if you make a bundle package price with a lower cost/IC.

 :-)

Well, that's easy for you to say...

It's not you who the trouble of sorting, individually testing and storing these chips...

FYI: All these chips have been discontinued since 1994.

Or maybe I should do like these obsolete semiconductors clearing houses... minimum order 250$ / no individuals orders accepted.

Not a single chip I advertised was priced above 10$.

You'll pay for what these things are worth or you forget them. That's it.

They're worth what people will pay for them.

IMHO, if you can't sell them you should at least offer them to people for the cost of shipping before trashing them, at least that way they aren't wasted (and they don't sit taking up space in a landfill somewhere - think of the environment :-D )

That said, I can understand that it could be a pain taking them for posting, unless you can post them all en masse at the same time.

YES it really irritates the CRAP of out me when people say they will trash it if it does not sell.  If you do that you are a moron!

How about this idea:  I know groundbreaking idea.  If it does not sell, offer it for FREE to someone and have them pay for shipping!  What a concept I know, I should get an award!!
Going Bananas over AMIGAs since 1987...

Looking for Fusion Fourty PNG ROMs V3.4?
