You say there a jumper to indicate something else is attached to the side of the computer or attached to the 500/8?

I powered my A500 and A1200 up for the first time in a while.  
My A500 has 512k chip and 512k fast.  I guess I was supprised that it showed up that way.  I does run abit faster.

My A1200 has 2Meg chip.  I am used to seeing it consolidated into one chunk.  (I hope that made sense.)
