OK then, whatever, I must've mis read some articles then.

Anyway, is CD32Freak, hnl_dk, Jd997Uk, IKIR, KAY, SEER, MAD, Elektr, are these people still on these forums??

Just curious, as I saw some postings from a while back, and i think I vaguely remember IKIR!!

Anyway, for some reason my 1060 sidecar isnt being recognised by my A1000. SO Im going to have to pul it apart again on the weekend, DAMN IT!

Maybe I jsut need to re attach something, Ill check that the AST Rampage and EasyFix ECH-30+ HD cards are still plugged in properly while im at it.

Im thinking it may be the connection between the A1000 and the 1060 sidecar from the side of the A1000???

ANyway, hope it all gets working again on weekend!!

Just to save me from having to read, hey bloodline, do you know if I can run Workbench 3.1 on my A1000?? Thats assuming I can get my sidecar working, then I'll end up upgrading my A1000 a bit for fun, while a wait for the new HArdware to come out for OS4 or OS5, whichever happens!

Cheers!! 8-)  8-)

I'm pretty sure you can't install the 3.1 ROMs into the A1000 as commodore never built ROMS for it... though perhaps some A500 ROMS might fit?

NEWS RELEASE: Hyperion releases OS 5 to run on Commodore 64(with SuperCPU) with Vic compatibility. Also said to be timex sinclair compatible.

I may have misread some of the article, I don't believe the part about Timex.

So, I thought OS5 was going to be a standalone OS that can run on any platform, and computer system, ie PC, or MAC or Amiga Hardware??

Also, when you say hosted environemnt, do you mean, one needs to have another OS underneath it?? And if so, that'd be crap wouldnt it, I mean, what about those of us that would want to run OS5 on its own??

It was supposed to have a native version ALSO and yield maximum performance under the native OS but still support other OSs.

Anyway, there is an effort by the maintainers of OpenGL to come out with a new API for handheld devices called OpenKODE 1.0 .  It is really redundant to have a hosted OS when you can have native performance from an API like OpenKODE or SDL.

@SamuraiCrow:

So, are you saying that, I could have an Amiga mobile, and have this OpenKODE on it, or can I just have the OpenKODE on it??

And, No, I am at work right now, so I cant just sit here and read a 30 minute article!

Cheers!! 8-)  8-)

P.S.Awesome, so one will be able to run OS5 on its own! Also, You wouldnt happen to know the limitations of hardware, like I mean, I think I asked, but didnt receive an answer on this!
Will It run on PC hardware current?
