hello world.
i got an a1200 with blizzard030 board, 32mb fastram and 1gb hd. with that i have an intel etherexpress pro/100 mobile adapter (pcmcia ethernet adapter).
at first i booted my amiga and stick that card in. uff... kinda frozen - plug it out: ok!
looking on aminet i found cardpatch. i installed it, that one works fine.
i got cardreset too and cnet.device.
now i have cardpatch and cardreset in my user-startup and the amiga boots well with that. card inserted of course.
so then, i tried the card_info utility from cnet.device archive and here's the output:
--begin
Getting PCMCIA card info...
..Intel.EtherExpress(TM) PRO/100 PC Card Mobile Adapter16.PRO/100 M16A.1.00.
Appears to be a Network card
CCR Offset address (16 bit) = $000800, Config ID = $01
Interface Type 1, uses: RDYBSYWAIT
Getting I/O memory now - remove card if system freezes!
Saving data to t:card_info.bin
card_info done.
--end
kewl, i think. it works already!
here we go with miami... hardware... new... ethernet...
i enter a name and choose cnet.device, then sana-ii parameters...
when i "query device" it comes finally, the i-was-waiting-for errorwindow from cnet.device 1.8 68020+:
card reset failed,
card not compatible?
(4 times)
and finally:
miami deluxe is unable to open... blabla
can someone explain, what reset is meant? could it be that cardreset doesn't completely resolve the 'geile' hw-reset problem? or is it time for me to write a driver...
btw. i got the same error with sanautil -d cnet.device config
tnx for reply
