@Gav - The update should preserve all your prefs (did here anyway, as far as I've noticed).  It may be worth making a backup of your ibrowse2.3 progdir before updating just to be certain.

@Moto - had the same error - as with the others it went away after a reboot.
Mac Mini G4 (1.5GHz, 64MB VRam, 1GB Ram): MorphOS 3.6
Powerbook 5.8 (15", 1.67GHz, 128MB VRam, 1GB Ram): MorphOS 3.8.

Windows-free since 2011-2014 (Damn you Netflix!)

Oh yeah i did try it and all seems fine but i was just making sure..Ok i have a small question here, when i first got ibrowse2.3 a few yrs back ebay looked the same on my amiga as my pc..

Then after sometime ebay looked gray looking with menus down the side..What is ibrowse 2.4 missing to support a page like ebay/yahoo.co.uk?

@ Gav

That's CSS support, supposedly coming in IB3.0.

@ experts

Could someone tell me what's so great about CSS that everyone is adding it to their websites? I fail to see the point. It doesn't seem to offer much other than failing to work in low-end browsers.

It makes web design easier. I.e. one can change look of all web pages on portal only by changing css file.

I'm not an expert, but the benefits are manyfold; it's a more logical and consistent way of marking up text, you can make changes to your template (style sheet) and it automatically propogates through all the pages, saves you having to go through and edit everything. You can choose a different style sheet depending on your presentation needs... (Compare that with defining constants in a program versus going through and changing one value every time it appears.)

It also makes it a lot easier to place elements where you want them on the page, instead of relying on a contrived nest of tables to do the same job.

@ itix & NoFastMem

Hmmm... Fair enough, I suppose, but wasn't there a similar way to do this in the past that wasn't a nightmare for Amigas and PDAs?

Couldn't all that that css functionality be handled better by standalone software rather than by changing the standard?

It does not change the standard. In fact it stops web designers abusing HTML standard and CSS is designed in a way it allows viewing page even when your browser does not support CSS. They just look dull.

Lack of CSS support is only tip of the iceberg. Modern browser should also support XML.

The same could be done using PHP scripts, I guess.
