Fully loaded A4000 for sale -- Trying again.

I had a thread here a couple of weeks ago offering my A4000 for sale. I had a few people interested, but the offer I accepted fell through, so I'm restarting the process with a fresh thread.

But this time, I'm going to make more of an effort to actually tell you what you're getting and what it costs.

So now you can see what I've got. I'm looking for offers over £500 (GBP). If you live within a reasonable distance of Berkshire, England, arrange for you to pick it up, or something. If you live further away, you'll need to arrange and pay for courier delivery. (I prefer the living close option; couriers are a lot of hassle)

It will be a good idea to specify the following:

1) The type of Cyberstorm (MK I or II)
2) How much RAM is on the Cyberstorm
3) How much RAM is on the mobo
4) The condition of the battery
5) Whether the PIV is in one piece or not
6) Any manuals available

I've edited the original post to include a few things I missed (like all the books).

Answers to specific questions...

Yes, the PIV is in one piece.
The battery isn't in good condition.
The motherboard ram is 16mb+2mb, and there's 32mb on the Cyberstorm, making a total of 50mb.
I think it's a Cyberstorm Mk II.

Has the picasso got the sd/ff module ?

I have no idea what that is :-D , so I'll assume it hasn't.

Here is a picture of my PIV. Notice the bottom right hand side of the card (ignore the thing with the ribbon cable, that's a Concierto add on). Does your PIV have that bottom right-hand part with the pins?

Ignore the fan, stuck on the CPU with double-sided tape. The thing about a MKII (compared to a MKI) is that the memory and CPU are all on one board. It is much more compact than a MKI.

It is very important that you find out whether it is a MKII and whether the PIV has the scandoubler. It will make a big difference in price.

Also, as you have stated that the battery is not in good condition, it would be a good idea to post pics of that, so that potential buyers can get some kind of idea of the expense involved in repairing it.

Okay peoples....

Lets get one thing straight with the Picasso IV (AND LOTS of people make this mistake).

The removable part is *NOT*, I repeat *NOT* the SD/FF.

SD/FF is INTERNAL to the main card, it will be inside the main video encoder chip on the card.  The snap off PCB is such because in the A2000, the GFX slot is located ELSEWHERE on the motherboard, READ not inline to the Zorro..

If the card has been used in an A2000 and subsequently removed, the GRAPHICS SLOT PCB must be connected to the main card by Ribbon cable in an A3000/A4000 (WHICH DOES have the video slot INLINE).

It doesn't make a difference. If he doesn't have the part I told him to look for, he doesn't have a SD/FF. Now what do you think is more likely:

1) It has no SD/FF because somebody damaged/removed just the SD/FF components from the board (but didn't remove the part of the board that goes in the video slot).

2) It has no SD/FF because somebody removed the part of the board that goes in the video slot (but didn't damage any SD/FF components on the card).

Do you see what I mean? You can see what the gist of my questions are to Spudley, why complicate matters?

Valid questions, I am merely trying to get people to QUIT referring to that break off connector *AS* the SD/FF, Because it is not.., its the Video/Graphics slot connector, which *IS* needed for the card to operate.

Yes, at this point, I am prepared to split things up (up to a point), and I've had a couple of queries for other things too. But I'm not going to start marking separate prices for everything, so if you email me privately with offers for individual items, I'll consider them.
