@quenthal

Yes, I got to the same point.  I wonder if the file on the FTP is not the final entry as this is shown in the output window:

Quote
Starstruck: A TBL Amigademo for Assembly 2006
Half-finished version delivered to the compo at 2006-08-04 19:30 (approx)

But, it does look amazing up to this point.  The layers were really impressive. :wow:
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(

...while we're waiting, here's one nice PC demo:

fairlight-track_one.mpg

Nice Jazzy soundtrack, too. I liked it.

Unfortunately it seems these id^H^Hfriends hacking the videos don't seem to have their priorities set right. The file will appear in low.fi/ass06 at some point.

It's 6AM and I need to sleep.

I'd like to see the finished version.  It does look pretty neat so far.  I'm curious, though, about some jitters I'm experiencing during the show.  Maybe those will be fixed in the final.

As much as I like to see high-quality AGA demos, I would love to see more RTG demos for the Amiga.

TBL's demo was absolutely breathtaking in the compo! If it doesn't do what Lapsuus did couple of years ago, it's a great injustice. 060/AGA beating 2GHz/1GB/3D-accelerated PC demos, yeah! :)

And also remember, that A500 demo won the oldskool compo at asm too :) http://amiga.bbs.fi/rno-frtc.lha

Yay. Just woke up and it's time to see the last day (well couple of hours) of assembly.

Okay, I didn't go to sleep right away, we instead talked shop for couple of hours first. Hehe. That's why I love asm, you can always find someone likeminded for some really really intensive chat...

That tbl demo really took me by suprise... after all theese years with boring demos they finally did it, its great looking, it has the perfect background music and ohboy ...very cool effects.

saw some of the other demos too (from asm) and...they bored me to death...except the 1995 demo from MFX/kewlers, that was rather cool too :-)

BIG KUDOS to TBL for dooing such a fine masterpiece , cetainly will be on my top 5 demos ever list.

Whats up with all the hate!

As expected:

1 10891p Starstruck by TBL
2 7330p track one by fairlight
3 6796p 1995 by Kewlers & mfx
4 2646p BOMBMAN by Matt Current
5 2273p 2^5 by Traction
6 1500p telos by portal process
etc...

\o/

Full results:
ftp://ftp.assembly.org/asm06/results.txt

Released (by asmorg) TBL's demo bugs on most systems as it's some early beta. It hangs to one part in middle of the demo. I think we get proper version tomorrow and maybe final some day :)

Can anyone tell how many Amiga productions were contributed? In the results file it is not mentioned. So far it seems that there was only Starstruck/TBL and Fruitcake/RNO.
