Amiga demo won at Assembly 2006!
« on: August 06, 2006, 12:18:39 AM »
Well, the demo-competition just ended, and I'm must say TBL's demo should truly win. It was for 68060 and it was competing against 2006's PCs and Macs. Absolutely amazing demo!

Yep. Saw the thing live, and it truly did kick some serious behind.

If there is any justice in the world, it will win.

Then I fear the odds are against it.

Seriously though, each year that an Amiga demo wins is surely to e considered a great feat!

And, I\'ve relapsed, LOL.

Hmm, might be canceling again. LOL

In the meantime, you should be able to run it under UAE with fast enough machine (if real Amiga is out of the question).

It appears to hang with real amiga, at least for some ppl. No clue if this is a bug in the demo or what.

It should run fine on aga and 060 as far as I understand.

Just tried it with my A4k - it jammed in the scene where that 4-legged industrial robot walked on the wall at the corridor. Soundtrack continued, we moved on the corridor but the robot freezed and viewer was left to that scene. I could however quit the demo system legal way. Is this the same place where other ppl with 060 got?

Most important however is that it worked fine when it was recorded for big screen at Assembly - I think there is just that little bit of justice left... .

Yes.

Ah btw, the video is ready now, but it will take a moment to upload to faster server.

Voyager and IBrowse are failing to behave with the ftp protocol...

Got a http: link?

I liked TBL's 'GBG' with music by UpRough. The 70's funk and Designers Republic style was pretty cool.

Still, for design and audio/visuals you can't beat NVX's 'Relic' on '060/AGA.

Spaceballs' 'State of the Art' still has my favourite soundtrack!

;-)

@quenthal

Yes, I got to the same point.  I wonder if the file on the FTP is not the final entry as this is shown in the output window:

Starstruck: A TBL Amigademo for Assembly 2006
Half-finished version delivered to the compo at 2006-08-04 19:30 (approx)

But, it does look amazing up to this point.  The layers were really impressive. :wow:
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(
