I also have one of these units. Can I ask how you modified it so it does not need an external Power Supply. I will be building a new Power Supply for my A500 from a PC 300 Watt Power Supply so it should be able to handle many peripherals from a single one.

It's quite easy. A steady hand,soldering iron and a bit of solder is all you need.
