Amazing that unused machines from that era are still being unearthed!

The first question raises a point - I hope the battery is OK!

P.S. Whoever entered the second "question" was unfairly harsh!

The guy who asked the second question sounds like a right arsehole!

Why is this good stuff always so far away from me. I would love an older Amiga that has never been unpacked from its box. The question is, would you use it?

This is a cool find.   If I bought the machine, I would DEFINITELY use it.  The stuff has no hours on it and therefore the equipment (barring any manufacturer defect) is still new and would likely last a good long time.

It is already outside the range of my allowance at this time, my wife would poop pink twinkies sideways at the price it is currently going for, (even though I know for a new in a box find as rare as this, it is nothing).  My prediction with 3 days and some change to go, that it will pull in $1000 for the owner.

Amiga is the only platform that defies the law of old machines!  If you have a PC from 1990, you will be lucky to sell it for $50.   Amiga on the other hand is always at least triple that amount for a good one.

Anyhow, I hope the new owner of the box takes great care of it.  In 20 years, may it still be running strong!

I would check the battery straight away if I bought it.

Stop telling them! We have an agreement at my place. I can buy new stuff, but in the trade I have to get rid of something else and my wife gets to spend $$$ on another pair of shoes.  That arangement kind of has a self regulating property to it.

You know that 2000 is only worth $50. It's the box that's going to cost $450 :-D

I had an Amiga 2000 back in 1989.  See me sitting there using it, in '89?

http://www.blakespot.com/list/images/amiga2000.jpg

In 2000 there was a guy selling about 24 new in box A2000's with HD's on eBay.  I got one of them.

Lovely machine.  It's one of the best machines in my "Byte Cellar."

If I didn't have this NIB A2000, I'd have to jump on that one.  Now a NIB A1000, I'd have to take that.

You could always get pictures of that and sell them on EBay to cover the cost of the A2000hd!

@motorollin

I wonder what he can "tell by the pictures" to make him say it is a used computer. It looks pretty clean and new looking to me. Maybe he was expecting a perfect 20 year old box?

Man I hate to say it, but the battery has surely leaked big time!  This thing is nice though.  I'm sure it still works though just has a lot of leakage on the board.  Both of my 2000s had leaking batts.
