Is this scandoubler 24-bit
« on: April 13, 2006, 10:12:09 AM »
Hi

According to the big book of amiga hardware, this scandoubler:

http://www.amiga-hardware.com/showhardware.cgi?HARDID=355

The MV1200 can handle the full AGA 24-bit colours.

Amigakit has this that looks, addording to its picture like an MV1200 with FF module. Is it, and so does it support full AGA?

Anotherone I've seen is the Toastscan, does that support AGA?

srg86 : I have both external scandoublers, the MV1200 and the new Indivision that I bought from Vesalia. Both look identical but so far the new one is still wrapped in its original package (didn“t even try it as I just wanted to be one of the first to buy one while they still had it in stock). The thing I can say for sure is that I tried the MV1200 on my A1200 with screenmode Super Hires Laced on my 17" Medion (Aldi) TFT and it worked like a dream, NO FLICKER !! Crystal clear screen !!

Both Indivision and MV1200 are crap compared to the CM345S.
It can handle true 24bit.

To me, this suggests that the MV1200 doesn't do any scandoubling in 24 bit mode.  However, if the 24 bit colour signals are already 24kHz->31kHz, then they will be passed to the output with the complete palette intact.
Good good study, day day up!

Ditto. My MV1200 scans like a dream and I would not part with it for any price.
