Amiga mouse - how long have you had yours?

I was at my Amiga in the early hours of this mornig, looking at my mouse, I thought I have had this mouse now an original Amiga mouse for 8 years.

That`s how long I have had this Amiga1200, the one before this I had for 3 years, and that had the original Amiga mouse, and yes I still have it.  Its a spare.
This mouse has never give up, its a Logic 3 mouse I cant remember the last time I cleaned it (not that it needs it) it still runs smooth.

So how long have you had your Amiga mouse?
Do you still use an original Amiga mouse?

If not then what mouse do you use these days?

This is just a matter of pure Interest...........

the mouse i have now i bought it for spare back in 95 and i start to use it at 97 or 98 continiusly. never had problems with it. :-)  i have the original commodore too that i had soldered the wires so many times that now is no more than 30cm long :-)  it works but it's not practical to use.

Ive had the original Amiga second generation for four years. Never got really tired of it but did look at that trash the blue one for Amiga.  :-)  :-)

Later, the left button gave in a bit, then it was all sold. For the life of me I don't know what I would do with the 600 now except hold it in my hands.

Now, with the PC, I have a small caddy, Case Logic. For almost a year now, and it's good. However the mouse feeling on a PC just doesn't cut it.

I've had my mouse about 8 years, but it was already very second hand when I got it.  Bought it with a 2000.  It's a 'Green' branded mouse.  Haven't seen that brand before or since.  Works really well.  Good buttons.  Needs a clean every year or so.  Got another two mice which are quite dead (haven't tried doing more than cleaning them).

On my main Amiga I've got a Wizard Developments 500dpi 3 button mouse. Got it second hand in 1999 along with the Amiga. I bought a spare in 2000 and gave the spare away in 2003.

The original wizard mouse is still working as smooth as it did the day I got it, and I've only cleaned it out maybe twice... The switches in the buttons are still as fresh as they were in 1999. Probably the best mouse I've ever had.

I had my original mouse for almost 10 years but just about 3 years ago the right mouse button stoped worging properly (the microswitch was going) I picked up a new 3 button mouse caled the "Wizard 560" The third button can be programed to do all sorts of things on the amiga as it came with some software to control it. It has worked very well for me.

I still use the original mouse that came with my Amiga 3000 when I bought it when it first came out in the eary 90's.  Used every day in the office.  I had to clean out the lint and lubricate it a few times.  It still works flawlessly.  I am on the second mouse on my 2500 Amiga - I still have the first one, but the left button is too sensitive.  My new one is now 4 years old.

i had an a1000 for several years with a dead mouse, i was going to get one but the keyboard commands worked so well. that was over 10yrs ago then i got my 1200 with one of the rounded mice. i got a spare sometime around then that i still have now although i sold the 1200 to buy a 3000. i still havent used the spare but ive checked it several times and it still works fine. these older amiga mice remind me of the 1350 mouse i had with my c64.

I have not had good luck with Amiga mice at all. I went thru 4 of them in 6 years. I have been using a Logitech optical wheel mouse for about 4 yeas now and it's lasted longer than any other I've had and is smooth as silk.

Had logic 3 speed mouse that's remained functional for almost ten years or so (can't remember). When it's too dirty movements isn't as smooth so it's kinda boring to clean it from time to time.

BTW, wasn't there a wireless optical mouse for the Amiga sometime ago ?

I guess the best solution these days is to use one of those PC mouse adapters with a good optical mouse.

My A1000 still has it's original mouse from 1987 or so... The 2000s are also original. Ya know, it is possible to buy replacement switches from Digikey.. last time I looked... and repair Amiga rodents. I did this many times when I was a service guy.

Like Ryu, my Amiga4000 mouse is a white Wizard Developments 560dpi 3 button mouse (this is my second wizard mouse but the first, after more seven years is really used especially the left mouse button !).

I bought a brand new one for 29 EUR on ebay.fr (really) in  end of 2005. To me too, it's probably the best mouse I've ever had ! Black model is especially beautiful ;-P

Yep, same here, a Wizard Developments 560dpi 3 button mouse. No problems with it since I bought it :-) Can't remember when I did buy it, but I have had my A1200 from new (1995 ?) and replaced the mouse probably in 1996 approx.

I still have my original A1200 mouse (1992), but I had to replace microswitches once, two or three years ago. My A500+ still has its original mouse too, althought it has not been used for a long time...

Its amazing realy, I mean I have had to clean my PC mouse a good few times now, so to stop al that I got myself a wireless mouse an optical one, much better.
Its a pitty I cant get an optical mouse for the Amiga.

But in comparison to a PS2 PC mouse the Amiga stays does not need to be cleaned any where near as much, and they both have much the same time in use as each other.
