we're on our third, so I know exactly what you're going through !

I'm sorely tempted - probly more like 200 nicker though, after exchange, and VAT - my A1200 is a bit left out at the mo !

count me in for two A1200 versions anyway   :-)

A500, A600, A1200x3, A2000, A3000, A4000 & a CD32.
and probably just like the rest of you, crates full of related "treasure" for the above XD

Chalk me down for an A1200 Version.
How about asking Elbox if they have any edge connectors.

Wow, a CD32 version would be nice!  :-P

I'm very interested in standalone possibility, too, but I don't know how it would works. :-?

I ask to Mr. Adam Kowalczyk more info about standalone functionality and then I will be one of yours customers! :-P

THAT'S what's holding the dragon project up - lack of edge connectors.  It all makes sense now.

Seriously though:
1: Who in the amiga community would want to be totally dependent on Elbox for their business dealings?
2: Why would Elbox supply the competition with needed parts?

Had a good look round the Googleworld for parts - not seeing much in the way of 1.25mm (or 1.27mm) edge connectors, except for PCI and PCI-e production.  I do reckon it may be a custom order (+$$$$$$s).
Hopefully an ex-employee of Winner/Micronik/Phase 5/DCE/someone might give Adam a hint as to where they used to order them from.  Can't REALLY see Elbox going out of their way to help.

Hmmm... I've read the board(s) could run stand-alone as well, guess the A1200's only needed for AGA and to keep the possibility of playing hardware bashing games. So, if that's true... Why not put a bunch of ribon-cable style pin-headers where the edgeconnector should come, sell it as a standalone board and for those who really want it to slide into their 1200s there could be the possibility of even pointing to a DIY solution for the edge-connector. That way the 'plumbum' problem could be easily be avoided and... AOS4 ready hardware would be available again.

If prices do include the processor I think it's not bad value when bundled with AOS4 (OEM). Not having an A1200 I'd buy an standalone version.

Or am I totally lost in the woods and is the 1200 a neccesary piece of hardware?
Get a SAM, while you can! The new AMIGA is here!

Based on what I read on the thread on AmigaWorld, the stand-alone version is behind the A1200 version and both of them are running behind the A3000/4000 version.  I think the hosted versions are upgradable to stand-alone, however.

BTW, EMail sent.  (Don't use the link on the first page because there is an extra period at the end of the email link.)

MODERATOR  - WE NEED A POLL TO GET THE NUMBERS EASILY ACCESSIBLE.

Why do you or we need to know the numbers? Adam is the only one that needs to know. He asked when he started this topic. It is easy enought to just check every day or so and count the positive responces. He could have asked us to put up a poll for him but he didn't. Besides, there are quite a few ways voters can manipulate the poll results. Not to mention, this way he gets a worded responce that is better than a Yes or No. Like the questions that have been asked.

PowerVixxen Or AROS Box, PowerVixxen Or AROS Box, PowerVixxen Or AROS Box, UHgggg!

I'd be asking more technical questions about this product first.

It is just that the carrot is being dangled just in visual range. Do you run towards it hoping you can get there or that it is not a mirage or wait an see if it is brough closer?
The Power Vixxen looks to still be alive, though not without problems. Will he be able to get the parts and find a company to produce it? Tune in and find out.

Also, I didn't want to repost what had been posted a few times before. When? Pictures? benchmark? Spec? etc.  I hope by now that it would be a forgone conclusion to what the standard questions are.  I'm in no hurry, I can hold out a couple of months. If it happens it happens, if it doesn't then AROS Box.
