i wanted to get the IDEfix express, but i couldn't find anyone selling them

Amigakit is listing the Express. I got mine from Vesalia, although it says "please call" on their website (it was in stock though).
You could always ask Jens Schoenfeld directly if noone has it in stock.

I can confirm that IDEFIX Express is in stock here

I find the IDEFix'97 drivers to be more stable than the FastATA'99 drivers from Elbox, not to mention easier to use.

I don't think they are as fast though.

The Idefix Express speed is very dependent on the bus speed of your accelerator. Jens mentioned that you actually get the highest transferrate with a 42Mhz 68030 (runs synchronous then) while the speed is rather slow with a 1260.

With my Apollo 1240/40, Idefix Express flies (around 4.8 MB/s).

I have a BPPC200/040-25, I'll run a diskspeed test later using the IDEFix'97 drivers on the FastaATA-Mk3 and report back.

Heres some SysSpeed Drive results from a FastATAMK-II on this A1200 with BlizzPPC 060:

This is with a 030/40 cpu on a old xbox disk(WD).

Vesalia sold the Idefix Express (both 4-way adaptor and Express module) to me for EUR 46,80.
Can't complain about the price.  :-)

hmmm, this drive splitting thing is doing my nut.

i'll see if i can get some time this evening to work on it, otherwise, i'm going to see if i can get a couple of IDE to SCSI converters.

why am i using an interupt driven IDE interface that chews CPU time, when i have a DMA capable scsi controller able to push data twice as fast?

oh yeah, each adapter per drive costs £50.... thats why  :lol:
