Where is the "home" key ?
« on: April 11, 2003, 09:49:53 AM »
Hiya

I'm just wondering if there is a way to have a "home" and "end" key available in any app or requester. And if that's not too much asking, I'd like to have an insert key too, to easily copy/paste in telnet modes...

How are the shortcuts silkscreened on the numpad accessable ?

What is the actual AOne KB layout ? Can I plug in a regular PC KB ? Does it make use of all the keys ?

Thanx !

pX

On the Amiga, shift+left arrow does the same as Home. Shift+right arrow will do the same as End.

You'll only be able to use the Home and End keys on an Amiga keyboard if you're using an app that supports them, such as a word processor like AmigaWriter, etc..

The AmigaOnes use PC keyboards, with the Windows keys acting as Amiga keys.

And yes, there is a supplier who is selling Cherry keyboards rebranded to have Amiga boing symbols on the Windows keys :-)

I won't use anything other than my IBM "Battleship" 42H1292 till the day I die. Will the "Amiga" key be necessary in OS4?

Heh, I have a couple of those as well :-)
One of them is currently servicing on the A1. However, I expect AOS would be a bit simpler with some "Amiga" keys...

Why some companies don't sell just the Boing stickers to place on the Winblows keys ????

One question xaccrocheur asked was:

If you are asking about the cmds on the front of the numericals then I imagine that these are used with PC-Bridgboard (or maybe even PCTask) use?

I'd thought that because the 6+3 mid-keys from a PC Keyboard are represented.

Because, you can make more money selling a $3 keyboard for 70 euro.

Ah, a non-Windows PC keyboard. :-) Not many of those left these days.

The SX-1 for the CD32 remapped the PC keyboard's F11 and F12 as the Amiga keys. You could probably get a keymap to do that.

Agreed, one of the BEST keybords of all time. Only recently merely outclassed by the new KeyTronic ErgoForce.
