Hmm, can't say for sure, I never really remember her face as my eyes were always drawn to her cloven hooves.

Hum,
The folks at RevoPower claim they’re re-inventing the wheel. And, let me tell you, I’m wanting to believe them. Here’s the deal. You take your current bicycle (be it a mountain bike, a cruiser or a commuter bike), you remove the front wheel, and replace it with RevoPower’s. A little wiring here and there, nothing too hard, and you’re set. Then, you go out biking, as usual.
But, say you’re growing tired, or you hit a slope and you’re just lazy… well, press a button, and the integrated commercial grade, 23cc two-stroke engine will kick in. You get 1.1 HP or 0.8 KW power output with a maximum rpm 7500 to help you along the way. On a flat surface, the engine will even take you up to speeds of 20mph, with a merciful 1.18 L/100km (200mpg).

Expand

Sure, this is pretty much a moped, but the beauty really is that parts have been miniaturized to the point that they can fit within a standard 26-inch bicycle wheel. The entire engine is less than three inches thick! Evidently, the set-up adds some weight: about 12 lbs more than a regular wheel, without taking the 3.8 litres of gas it can store into account. But that’s still decent, especially if all you do is commute.

Great idea until you realise that it then puts it in the "motorised - self propelled" category and that then involves it being insured as a motor cycle and taxed as well.

Agreed on the miniturisation though. Seriously kewl.

:Dumbarsed brainfart warning:
Wouldn't it be better to have it in the back wheel?  adding 12lbs to the front would make the steering a bit harder, or is the effect negligable?
Or maybe a motor in both and have a 2 wheel drive bike

Hum,
The gyro effect would be noticeable i guess.

And, doing  `wheelies` would be a bit difficult...

Perhaps there could be a `stabiliser` version...

If, according to that jet boots URL, kerosene burns at 500ml a minute then surely an equally combustible liquid such as urea would also be a viable fuel (human bladders can hold a maximum of 700-800ml!).

Would it be too much to ask for a wee powered rocket pack?

I don't mean a small Scottish one either...

EDIT:
Oooh! Daddy! Can I have one of these:

We just remodeled with hardwood floors, and the funny thing is, someone combined the Roomba and Swiffer concepts:

http://www.robomaid.com/

...and it actually works.  Grabbed two at a Big Lots for something under $20 each, and the only downside (versus manual 'swiffing') is the artificially limited runtime.

Well, that and the fact that you can't get the pads retail.
