Just bougt an A1200 with Blizzard 1230 16mb on ebay

I want to upgrade it to fully 32mb but i am unsure

I have some 72p 60ns 16mb and some 32mb.

Here is the description of the 16mb ram types that i have:

2 stk VG2617405CJ  (WA3601-6 )
2 stk HY5117404C   (0001A  J-60 )
2 stk GM71C17403CJ6
2 stk GM71C17803CJ6
2 stk HY5117404B (compaq-brikker)

anyone have a clue what ram can be used best with the blizzard 1230 16mb ram ?

As long as it is 72 pins ram, I believe you can use all of them.

The Blizzard cards don't seem to be at all fussy about RAM - mine worked with every stick I threw at it including FPM, EDO, and some double sided simms I took from an old SGI Indigo2.

Incidentally the Blizzard can take more than 32MB RAM - you can stick a 128MB Simm in there and it will work, and if you get the SCSI kit you can add another 128MB giving you 256MB.

Hi,

See:  http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/search.pl?dir=a1200proc

Depending on which model of the 1230 your getting will depend on whether you need to set jumpers for the amount of memory your going to install.

Hello,

If you are gonna use 32MB simms better make sure the are Fast Page type's. I myself use an apollo wich works fine with 32MB EDO Single Sided. Strange enough my Blizzard 1230IV doesn't accept it and only will show 16MB.

NOTE ! some double sided simm's are to high wich will cause problems if you try to put the trapdoor cover back in your 1200. Simply because they do not fit well.
