The .lha files used by Amiga are slightly different file format than the .lha format used by WinRAR so you should unlha the files from the Amiga side of things.  If you are using WinUAE or EUAE then it would help to mount the download directory of the host operating system and lha them from inside the emulator.  BTW .lha files are archives similar to .zip files but with better compression.

-edit-
here is a link to an old version of the LHA archiver.  It's in a self-extracting archive for Amiga.

Once you have extracted the archive move the LHa executable somewhere in your path then to unpack software type:

LHa x sourcefile.lha dest:path/

and be sure to remember the trailing slash on the destination path.

@Edpon

Aminet is not a video distribution or TV / movie related site and therfor doesn't have PAL or NTSC formats. PAL / NTSC is a set of standrads for brodcasting pictures over the airways. In Europe the PAL system is widly used for TV however it has nothing to do with AMINET.

AMINET is an internet database where people upload their programs for distribution to others.
If you by a CD, all that has happened is that someone has copied some of these files from this database to a CD for you. It is a data CD and thefore has nothing to do with PAL or NTSC or any other video standard. Think of it like buying norton anti virus or somehting like that. That CD would have nothing to do with PAL or NTSC either, it just contains the program.

AMINET is the sam, it just contains programs for you to use on your AMIGA.
Your CD collection does not contain all the files available on AMINET either. AMINET get's new files daily, so unless someone is sending you daily updates on CDs, you won't have "everyhting" so to speak.

An example. Let's say you wanted a program to read documents for you. You would log on to AMINET and search for a document program, you could then download that program and use it on your AMIGA.
Don't get confused here but AMINET is only for AMIGA / type computers. You won't find many windows programs there.

If you want to find out more, follow the link off this site and have a look for yourself. It will probably help explain all of this for you
It's not the question, that is the problem, it is the problem, that is the question.

Hi all,
   Here's a new question for this topic;

Which Aminet Set, 4-12 and Aminet Games, is most worth while getting? ( For games and Workbench utilities, graphics )

I've been reading the descriptions on Softhut's Site, but some are lacking anything at all, while others make it sound like they have everything from the previous set included in the current one viewed; i.e. - Set 7, has all of 6 plus 600 MB added. Thanks all.

Ed

I bought Aminet Set 6 because it came bundled with MED Soundstudio 1.03.  Other than that you're better off with the online version since it contains all of the files.  (And I mean even with dialup!)
