« on: June 07, 2005, 08:32:22 PM »
Hi all, at present I am thinking of buying Amiga Forever 6.0
I naturaly still use my trusty A1200, but.....

I would like to know near enough how fast Amiga Forever 6.0 will run on my Athlone Sempron 2000+ (1.67)gig CPU with 512 Meg DDR ram. 64 AGP grapphics card?   ohhh by the way, I use Windows XP Pro with all the updates.

Any one know, if it will run fast enough (not knowing anything about this)please let me know.

Dude, you more than have enough to make AF6 SCREAM!! The power and speed with amaze you. Actually, 1GHz is more than overkill for AF6 so you have more than enough over head. As for XP though, 1GB of RAM is the sweet spot for optimum performance with all apps. But for AF6 you will be just peachy.

It should be fine on this setup- I've got it running here on a Mobile Athlon 2000+ and Amiga Forever 6 runs Amiga software responsively.

Incidentally you can also add a Competition Pro USB joystick that gives you an Amiga style games controller.  Now you dont have to use a keyboard for all those classic Amiga games.  The Competition Pro USB is a classic Amiga joystick that works with Amiga Forever 6.

Ahhh right, I use a USB Starfighter Logic 3 Joystick.

So that should be ok then?

I'm not familiar with that model-  Amiga joysticks are digital and most PC joysticks are analogue. So the Competition Pro USB is styled on the digital Competition Pro Amiga joystick of yesteryear.

Your USB joystick should work ok though.

If you buy the ISO version, is there a way to install it to HD like Amithlon?
