Welcome :-D

Is your network encrypted (I hope so ;-) )?  I've no idea if not entering the WEP code (or entering an incorrect one) would cause those symptoms, but I suppose it's possible...

:bump:

How far is the Amiga from the accesspoint? Perhaps the WIFI card in the A1200 can't receive the signal as good as your laptop can...

I have two wireless routers.  One is a Netgear 108Mbps router and it's signal reaches upstairs to the amiga and pegasos no problem, the other is an MSI 54Mbps router and it signal reaches upstairs to my laptop in the same place, but won't talk to the amiga or pegasos.

The MSI router is now in a box unused.

wel,i think there are 2 problems,..

1. my accespoint is maybe to far away from my amiga and is my pcmia wifi-card not strong enough to get the signal. but i can't imagine that it would be. but the accespoint isn't to far.there is the strongest conection with my laptop so my amiga must get also a signal? i think so 8-)

2. i have idd a wep encryption on the network. and i don't know where or how i can the key configured in miami :-?

or is there a add-on for miamiDX?

you specify the key in your user-starup with the prism2 driver on the same line our specify the ESSID. Read the prism2.readme for more info.

You have to actually install the prism2 driver before you wifi card works, you can't just stick it in the side of your 1200 and expect Miami to work with it.

Download this and install it.  Then read the instructions in the readme.

Ok, the line in my peg's S:user-startup is:

SetPrism2Defaults SSID xxxxx MANAGED CHANNEL 10 KEY xxxxxxx

Where xxxx is your network name and wifi key respectively.

I would like to add WiFi to my A1200.  Which cards work and what drivers do I need?

How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

There's a short list of compatible cards in the driver's documentation. See the link to the driver in a previous reply.
