Hi to all Amiga users.I just bought A1200 on E-Bay+need some tips

Hi,I used to have an Amiga A600-Weird,Wild+Wicked pack+was daft enough to sell it when I got married.But have just bought an Amiga A1200 with 200MB hard drive.I've also bought many Amiga games from E-Bay,but can only seem to get several of them to run,eg-Putty+Micro machines.Most other games load in OK,but I can't seem to get them to run beyond start up titles.I know my mouse that came with 1200 isn't working properly,cos it will only move pointer left or right,whereas I can move it freely using keyboard.Also don't have joystick yet,is it that most games require mouse/joystick to run properly??Also had scart lead with Amiga and found it works fine on my portable but not on my widescreen?

no, amiga 1200 has version 3.0 kick start roms and AGA chipset, but most old games are written for 1.3 rom and OCS/ECS chipset. You need to use a utility like relokick to load 1.3 kick rom and then possibly you can play those games.

about your mouse, probably either the mouse port or the mouse have some hardware problem. You better try it in workbench environment though.

just get whdload and install the games on your hd... and they will work...

probably your widescreen TV-monitor, doesn't detect automatically the Scart RGB IN mode.

Try to see in the widescreen menu settings, if you find in the Scart Input section, to force the Scart to RGB IN.
