128 Mb EDO Ram module for Amiga or PC or other systems
« on: March 01, 2005, 03:19:43 PM »
128 MB RAM SIMM 72-PIN - FPM RAM - 66 MHz - 5V - 60ns - Parity

This module comes out of a server and is 100% working. It can be used in PC´s that use EDO or Simm modules (tested in a real old 486) but also in Amiga computers with turboboards that are designed to handle Simm´s of 128 Mb. It does fit the Blizzard PPC card (tried on my Blizz 233/060) , the Blizzard 1240 and the Microbotics 1230XA (these are all the cards that I have). Note that this double sided module may not fit in a Blizzard 1230/4 because there is not enough room on the card. You may be able so solve this problem by keeping the module at its place by force but this is at your own risc.

I have also several other identical modules which works also 100%. This can be bought too if you want to for 34 euro with no extra charges.

Please note that this module may not be used in a HP server model 9000 as these systems use 3,3 Volt modules !!!

Please note also that if you want to put these modules inside a 80486 / Pentium1 that the Ram limit of the motherboard may be 128 Mb so that you can only use one module.

And the last note is that every module will be tested before I sent it to you !!!

Price for first module : 36 euro.
Payment by PayPal preferred (Effy@pandora.be), but international bank transfer is also accepted when you live in the European Union (using IBAN+BIC).

The auction on Ebay can be found at this link.

Hi Effy,

I'm interested in one of these, could you please tell me if it will work on a Blizzard IV 030 or a B1260? And you ship from Belgium, right?

Edit: Just saw the description on your listing.... damn. Maybe someone here has tried this on a IV or B1260?

Thanks.
Anyway is the only way

MrZammler : according to The Big Book it won´t work because the modules are double sided and will touch the board of a Blizzard 1230/4 before it says "click". That sounds like a normal thing to accept. But another belgian guy, french speaking (nobody can be perfect) said he is using such a module in his own 1230/4 but he uses an elastic thing to keep the module at its place and to him it works okay ... that´s why I said I can not guarantee it will work on a 1230/4 ..
But it should work on a 1260, don´t see why not, but I haven´t got a 1260 here at home so I can not test it ...

This morning I noticed a similar auction on Ebay but at higher prices, so I decided, just for fun, to relist my auction again at this link

That's too expensive!
It's not cool to try to make money on such old useless (except for a few people running amiga machines) SIMMs.

Let´s put it mildly that not all 128 Mb modules are the same. I do remember quite clearly using my first useless 128 Mb module in my Blizzard PPC board and as a result I had a toasted system, both card and A1200 were burned. The modules I offer have been tested on my own cards so I can guarantee they will work !! I also know that prices in the USA are far lower but the majority of sellers refuses to send outside the USA and those who do sent it by UPS or FedEx which makes the shippings costs go 40 USD and higher. Trust me, I have had plenty of experience with that, no bad experiences but also no cheap ones. The cheapest shipping cost I had from the USA was from Redrumloa but that sending took more than 3 months for it to arrive  :-o

Mmmm, i have never seen so far a simm that refuse to work on an accelerator (i own Mtec 1230, Apollo 630, Blizzard 1230-IV, Apollo 1240, Blizzard PPC) and i actually have a 128 Mo FPM Hewlett Packard simm on my PPC with no problem at all.
My guess is any FPM or EDO matching the correct access time will work on the appropriate board. I don't know how you managed to fry a mobo and an accelerator with a simm, unless fitting it unproperly.
