At this point of time, the Amiga teams have been very busy on development and with other work. However, very soon all people will be brought up to date with regard to some latest happenings. Don't you worry.  :-)

Very soon we will hear what will come very soon, any day now. Come on MikeB, i'm starting to believe that you actually believe in Amiga Inc and their AmigaDe which is coming soon for a very exciting future. So what will the great news be this time? Don't tell me: Amiga Inc will be able to print the t-shirts. Or maybe they will announce a new line of products: cups, jackets, lighters,...

AmigaInc is a bunch of loosers. If you can't see that, you are blind.

ps. as  usual, i don't see any connection between OS4 and AmigaInc (well, there is none anyway) so these are only opinions of the great Amiga Inc

"Hell" isn't a swearword.

A word that is used in a swear, is a swear word.

I swear, doesn't anyone speak english.

Btw, using the word God improperly is highly offensive to people.  I think being non-offensive is ultimately the goal, not simply avoiding words like f*ck, sh*t, etc....

after all, you could curse me in Russian and I might find it very offensive, whereas most would only find in unintelligible.

Oh and by the way, i find a completely and utterly laughable that people actually have to pay $50 to hear news about the great (coming very soon now) AmigaInc.

Well, luckily i didn't pay for that stupid coupon (which was another brilliant PR move by the exciting McEwen) and frankly, they can stuff their news. I mean, if the news is that important, they wouldn't keep it inside, would they? So there just is no news.

Can you imagine it:
IBM has made a breakthrough and are about to release a revolutionary product. BUT, you have to pay $50 to hear what it is all about. Hell, we don't want the whole world to know that we have something for sale.

Brilliant PR, once again!

What makes you think, that I care for your opinions? I was responding to the thread starter who has his worries and so I just wanted to let him know that there will be an update soon.

This is an area of language that interests me. As someone who 'swears' probably more than I should, I'm often reprimanded for it - sometimes rightly so. Hey, we all need to be told we're out of line sometimes. :-)
One thing I've often wondered is, who was the first person to decide that certain words are offensive and thus prohibited, while others are fine? Furthermore, if these offensive words had never been so badged, would anyone actually be offended by them?

I've also noticed a tendency, in the UK at least, towards more liberal use of words that were once taboo. Quite often nowadays we can read the 'F' word in a newspaper. This would have been unthinkable when I was a kid. Television is going the same way. I haven't decided yet, whether I think this is a good thing or a bad thing. :lol:

Here in Austrlia you can now swear on free to air TV. You say S**t pretty much any time you want (even on radio), and you can say F**k as long as it's after 9:30pm and only 5 times per hour, although the Southpark movie was shown here with no bleeping after the 5th f***k. But as anything, there is a time and place for most things.

Neither is "God" just in case you went to an American state school...

If you don't swear to God, who do you swear to?

@z5

You know it has been a while since anything was said (19th Jan) by the Total Amiga guys about when they will be publishing thier next issue... Should I have not given them my subcription money?

PS If any of the TA guys read this I am not having a go at you! Just giving an example of paying for information.

Hoya!

@Wilse

Well, most of the time it is a matter of history.
Swearing is seen as an offense in any sacred book. As a consequence, the one who swears is seen as a raw, rude person who has little education and class.

One remarkable point is the fact that some peoples, especially in small tribes, have "taboo words" not to be used by either men BUT by women, OR women but by men.

And many swear words have historical roots...

If you want more on the topic, buy this very interesting book by one of the master of languages today:

I think Z5 has a point here. If you really want people (that means everyone in the developed world) to know about a new product, you wouldn't give it out to only a select few, unless there was some great fortune to knowing this. I mean, I could see if we were talking about insider trading, but A Inc. doesn't have any public stock. Why the secret? Is this some kind of award for showing how loyal you are to them? Club Amiga is already very small, do they want to make it smaller? Either they are geniuses or dumb as bricks. :-o

Strange comparison... Actually, i just subscribed to Total Amiga magazine myself  :-P
Why? Because they have done 13 issues already on time. Something that can not be said about AmigaInc because they have released NOTHING so far
