so this "A700" has nothing to do with the amiga.. a zorro3 voodoo3 card sounds kewl though.. but would't one get a full version of the prometheus board for less than 149Eur? Anyway I hope it will be released some day..

Indeed a Zorro II version would have even bigger performance limitations than we initially thought. We don't know yet if it really could make sense - it's possible that we are going to publish a list of the limitations once we know them all ourselves and ask the community then if you still want a Zorro II version anyway. But we won't release more information about the AmiVD (Zorro III) until the product is ready. To avoid creating expectations we probably might not be able to fulfill in the end. Thanks for your understanding.

planning a new "Z3 only" GFX card, would be a suicide (from a commercial PoV) as the Prometeus has been.

A Zorro2-3 would extend the sales to others Amiga models.

Hi All

Sure we want a Z2 version.

Think in the A2K owners and A1200 Z2 busboard owners, that surely will bought the card.

There are lots ( speaking in Amiga numbers of course ) of acelerated A2000s and tons of 1200 with Z2/z4 busboards.

I introduce myself to be betatester of the Hard in the z2/z3 version.

Best Regards

I always thought a better approach for the 2000 would be to design something that attached to the accellerator card. Nobody's running a stock 2000 anymore. I know the specs of the Commodore 030 slot are available... not sure about GVP. Perhaps something that fit under the cpu chip itself...
just a notion... but it would get rid of the Zorro II speed and address space limits. I did some searching a while back and found it's possible to do a 68000 to PCI interface with 2 chips.

Hi there

A2k users with 040/060s are not going to trash their boards just to take a new GFX.

Just A z2, limited ok, will do fine for 2K users and 1200 with  Zorro buses. And, hey, there are 3k and 4k users that are haveing problems to run Z3 cards since they dont have the latest revision of the custom chipset, so a Z2 will be viable for their too.

Think that making it Z2/Z3 would expand the available market for that cardin a GOOD amount of units sold.

Best Regards!

If the sale of a Z3-only board is suicide, then why did the Cybervision64 have so much success in A4000´s and A3000´s ???  :-?

Cos it was released ~10 years ago ? In a time when the market was between 20 and 100 times bigger than it is now.....
1. Make an announcment.
2. Wait a while.
3. Check if it can actually be done.
4. Wait for someone else to do it.
5. Start working on it while giving out hillarious progress-reports.
6. Deny that you have ever announced it
7. Blame someone else
