How are the two jumpers on J100 set? I think they should be set to EXT.

Are you using the proper plastic spacers (the ones that come with the PPC board?)

Because I had a donkey of a problem with spacers, and I didn't even know it

did you install the software first? I had a similar problem and THEN I read the manual which says you install the software first and then the hardware. I suppose that seems obvious, but at the time, for some reason, I did it the other way around. At any rate, I removed the Cyberstorm, reinserted the old GVP '040 card, rebooted, and installed the Phase5 software and then turned off the machine and reinstalled the card. It booted fine after that.

Well, once you've triple verified that you have the correct jumper settings for the card...

Remove it from the system and closely inspect the CPU connector, both on your A4000 and on the Cyberstorm.  That is not a very well designed connector, and it's easily contaminated by dirt, as well as very fragile.  I know it's boring as heck, but inspect each individual pin...  I had a bent pin on my CyberStorm Mk2.

On a quick glance it looked fine, but I noticed it after close examination after the system wouldn't boot.  I think I actually shimmed that pin on the connector slightly with a little extra copper trace to make the connection more stable.  It's been a lot of years now, though.  I forget exactly how I did it.  I just remember not to remove the CS unless I have a darn good reason to.  ;-)

I  had to plug a 1084 monitor into the
video port on my A4000 to get a screen
that I could see to configure the
CyberGraphX Monitor driver. Once I got
the monitor configured and saved, I
unplugged the 1084 and boot with
the newer monitor working fine. I
hope this helps.

Hi Robest, do you have memory installed? The system won't start unless the CSPPC have memory installed.
