I just got back from a long PM with the CU_Amiga on the other board, and he is quite upset that he has a doppelganger. He swears that he has been around since December 2001. The other thing is, he is 26 (will be 27 in March) so he probably has seniority in this matter.

I think it would be a good idea if the CU_Amiga who started this thread did indeed change his name to CU_Amiga Jr, or maybe CU_Amiga_The_2nd

It's only fair, to avoid trouble in the Amiga community.

:roll: Actually, if you think two forum members pinching each other's screen name is bad, there must be a bunch of magazine moguls with a time machine, because they've learned the future outcome of our current debate, realized the value of the CU Amiga name, then traveled to our past to publish a magazine named after you guys!  

(The decision to travel to the past makes perfect sense, of course, because there was more of a market for such things back then than there is now....)

It's also murder reversed. One assumes that Red has issues with AOL ;-)

Regarding the name pinching, if you ask me using a former magazine title as your handle is not particularly original and it would seem natural that several people would think of it independently. Of course in CU's case, the name is copied exactly (same case etc).

Okay, so it is settled then....the 'Ayes' have it.
I therefore submit that the junior CU_Amiga should immediately change his name to CU_Amiga_Jr, or failing that, should at least make a note in his signature that he is CU_Amiga The Second  :-)

No. I don't think we'll be doing that. I am the REAL CU_AMiGA. I have used the name since summer 2001 on the Amiga Forums (before i joined Amiga.org).

And here's a message to the FAKE CU_AMiGA:

Look at what you have done. You have turned the greatest name on these board into a laughing stock. But i will get my revenge, they say that "every dog has it's day", and you're the dog and you're day is coming soon. So beware.

Of course you'd need to whittle it down to 5 or so to start with. Hmm, not such a good idea after all...
