I guess the title somehow explains itself. It´s a story about a dead battery in a A2000. But where to find it on the motherboard ??? Where to order a new one ???

Any help will be deeply appreciated ...

The battery is located on the front of the motherboard, about 2/3's the way from the left side. You can get a new one here.

Wow, 8$ for a NiCd! Why dont you get lithium one + diode+ batt. holder, it will cost you less than 1$, and wont leak again.
At least get GP instead of Varta if you really need NiCd.
Search past posts for more info.
Better sorry than worry.

I recommend the lithium battery hack on Aminet highly.  It's really cheap and quite simple.  You can even take pride in de-soldering the Li battery-holder and sometimes will even find the necessary diode from an old PC motherboard, e.g. if you can't find one at the local electronics shop (taking the setup from an old PC also gives you a used Li battery).
