BVision and PAL/BPPC - ppc.library
« on: August 26, 2004, 08:44:08 PM »
Hello, i have a Problem.
The BVision have no Switch Signal, but CGX
can disable the Grafik-DMA from the Custom
chips.
Is there somewere a Signal that i can
use for CGX/Pal switching?
I have tryed it first with "Digital Intensity"
it seem to work, but on Dark Pal Screens it
switches Back to CGX, for Applications it
works.
In www.amiga-hardware.de is a Device that
is descript as a Automatic Monitor switch
for the BVision. Maybe someone have this Device and
know how this works.

Than there is the ppc.library on the BPPC Flash,
ppclibemu dont like this. I dont want to use
BPPCFix, because of the Reboot.
Is it possible to extract the ppc.library from
the Flash file?

No. But the ppc.library file version is pretty much identical to flash one. You can use file ppc.library with loadppclib.lha

I want to kill the ppc.library from the Flash.
I want to use WarpOS and the ppc.library-emulation
without a Restart.

Well, that'd only possible with flashrom that replaces ppc.library romtag before it's initialized.

Not sure if there are any such flashrom product for A1200, however... Ideas?

I have the BPPC060 Flash Update as a File this
File is copy in the BPPC Flashrom.

When the File is without the ppc.library,
the Flash has none. But the File is crunched
oder cripted.

@chkamiga

I meant flashrom as 3rd party product.

You can't touch the BPPC flashupdate. Or if you do, you risk ruining your card.

Do you think there's a reason for that?

Few Programmers, few Hardware experts.

1993, such a reastart(BPPCFix) where not
okay for the users, and someone have
wrote a new Flashrom without ppc.library.

Or Monitor switching, its the same, someone
have found out how to detect if PAL
or CGX in Front.

mhhh . . .play with the "evil creature" (flashrom) made by Ralph Schmidt? . . . not a good idea indeed :nervous:

EDIT- only a mere question . . . to get rid of the ppc.library inside the BlizzardPPC flashrom, isn't enough to set the "Terminator 2" in WOS preference?

I Know but then you cant use the ppclib-emulation,
so its impossible to use PUP Programms.
