Most likely it's been to many parties.

The starting price is too high, however.. No-one will want to open up bidding at that price.

It looks partied out to me.

Still, Laxity is a legend and it would be great to know for sure if it is indeed Laxity's own machine.

If so then it would be great to preserve somewhere in it's current condition.

@topic

after this, i can even dye in peace . . .

"I've seen things... you people wouldn't believe... Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion ... I watched c-beams glittering in the dark near the Tanhauser Gate. All those moments... will be lost .... in time, like tears ... in rain."

I bet that even Roy has never seen a similar thing! :-)

Hahaha. This thread is really quite amusing. Because YES, it IS Laxity's machine and he IS the seller himself.  :-D

No disrespect to the erstwhile coder, but looking at the state of it, I think "laxative" would have been a better handle. I mean it's caked in cack!

Personaly I don't care who owned the Amiga before me as long as it's in good shape and work.

I would surtantly not pay 300$ for an Amiga story ala "The person who owned this machine before me was..." just to see all my friend either yawn or look stupid at me while they ask if I want to buy their spair wornout carweels for only 200$ a pease as they have a history of breaking 160Mph speeding from the cops once.

This crapp belong in a dumpster or at the very best in parts on a shelf somewhere.

For an scener, to buy this Amiga would be like a football fan buying Pele's football boots, or an art fan buying Picasso's paint brush.

How much would a football fan pay for Pele's boots bought directly from Pele himself?  Pele's old boots are probably old and worn out and dirty too, and he could probably buy some new shiny football boots for £50.  But obviously Pele's boots are more valuable.

What's wrong with a little authentic dust and sand from King Kefren's tomb? It runs Desert Dream perfectly :P

Nothing at all. As pointed out, to some the dirty old machine is something they wouldn't touch. But to others, it's a priceless piece of amiga history.

I'm sure it will sell.

Q: Can you guarantee that this is really the genuine Laxity's A500? How long have you had it? Did you buy it from Laxity himself or has it had several owners?  Answered on Jul-28-04
A: I'm sorry if it's unclear in the ad... I _am_ actually Laxity of Kefrens... If you look closely in some of the old Kefrens or Polka brothers productions, you will see my real name Anders Emil Hansen mentioned in a few places. :o) So, it's straight to you from myself... been sitting in a case for 7 years not doing anything (the computer that is!) Regards Anders "Laxity" Emil Hansen

Do we believe him? :-)
