How can anyone have their Amiga in that condition is beyond me!  I like my Amigas (and other Vintage computers) to be in pristine condition. ;)
Going Bananas over AMIGAs since 1987...

Looking for Fusion Fourty PNG ROMs V3.4?

Maybe someone told him computers have a "burn-in" period and he took the phrase literally.

Basically I'd just need something other than an email message (as has been shown anyone can say anything on the web, like "I've got a pile of PPC cards for sale" for instance ;-)).

If it's been to a bunch of parties it's not really surprising it's in a mess, is it?  That's what makes it 'not just another A500' though!

This A500 is beautiful to me. When I look at it I see years of good fun and amazing demo parties. If I had an A500 in perfect, non-personal condition, I'd sell it for 30 bucks. You aint buying a computer. This is a story. If it doesn't mean anything to you, don't buy it.

@laxity

Well said. You probably said so somewhere else, but why are you selling, anyway?

-edit-

Perhaps the thread title should have been "The dirtiest amiga...". After all, dirty and crappy are totally different ;-)

Maybe if it came with pics of crowds around it at one of the big parties at the height of the Amiga demoscene...

Otherwise I agree that it's worth about the same as the PPC cards in that other thread...

Then again, who am I to judge?  I'd bid up the machine Bill Williams used to develop his games on.  Or the one Trip Hawkins stands beside in the "We See Farther" ads...

It's nice to see you here Laxity, maybe you could fill in some memorable times in it's past?

In memorabilia sales having some history with it (photos, sketches, or just some anecdotes jotted down) can help the value lots ... plus I'm sure lots of people here would like to hear it too :-D

I do admit that 500 definately has been put to better use than any of my Amigas.  Lots of hours of coding and use, for sure.  Man that is one heavily used Amiga!  But I would not pay that much for it.  Even if it was Dave Haynie's! ;)  Thats just me though. lol

I would love to, but quite frankly it all seemed to go down the sh*tter on the ferry home from The Gathering 93... Helluva party, both of them.

I actually have a few pages of pencil sketches of the intro I originally intended for Desert Dream. I'd never part with them though. Xerox, anyone? Guess I could throw in a few lines of source code for The Prey though I'm not quite sure anyone would care. Still trying to find my damn floppies! Bet AWK used them for TP in the ghettos... grrr.
