Is it true that iBrowse 2.3 is coming as part of the OS4 package?
If so will it be full or limited demo.?

It will be unregistered. Amiga developers can`t go the free way at the moment. They have to make money somehow.

honestly some people.... Its been mentioned time and time again that IB2.3 will be shipping with OS4, its common knowledge that the Ibrowse thats coming with OS4 wont be a full version, but it wont be a demo either, it will be a lite version, what that entails I dont know, and to me it doesnt matter, I can just stick my keyfiles in and away I go :-D

Has someone been to Slashdot using the new release? On my PC, WinUAE goes way wonky when I try to visit that site.

I don't suppose anyone here realizes just how much money they are asking for IB2.3, do they?

Why in Sam's #$!$  would I pay $55 for a browser?!!?  Not if it supported the features I want, not if it come with a JVM, just no.  I am sorry, the price doesn't reflect on it's usability.

IB guys: I'll go so far as $35 USD.

Regards,
Targhan

I read your next post aswell. I actually have a program in c: called flushlibs. No need to reset. A minor thing I know, but it saves me a few seconds ;)

I loaded slashdot on my windblows box and on my A4000 with Ibrowse 2.3. Both computers use the same monitor. I did a switch and noticed only a very very minor difference. The right column on slashdot, on the login/password part is just a few pixels off. Nothing major at all and looks great otherwise ;)

@targhan

I think that £35 is more then fair for a piece of software. The biggest problem is that we are so used to web browsers going free (Netscape, IE, Mozilla) that we forget that it does cost money to make a complicated program such as a web browser. And seeing as the guys who make IB probably don't have a huge financial backing from other projects, this may be the only way they have to finance the project.

No doute IB is far from complete when it comes to features (but then in the ever changing world of the Internet, which browser is?) but if enough people show interest, and more importantly buy it, I am sure those features will be integrated into the program.

Welcome to the small market. You have to expect this until we become much bigger (and more people actually _buy_ software).

Ah! It's as I thought then.. WinUAE still doesn't function right on my stupid PeeCee. All I get is a screen full of corruption. Thanks.

@SlimJim

I do understand the ramifications of a small / verticle market.  However, that price is far too high considering that they may charge that again for the next upgrade.  Even if they didn't, their competition is $40 (V) or free (AWeb).

Nothing against IB, it's a good browser (for the market it's in), and the upgrade seems really nice.  But... That's too much to ask.
Regards,
Targhan

Does anyone here know how to turn on the spoofing?

Under URL Prefs in the Settings window, you can enter a url pattern, then select specific features for that site. One of them is the spoofing option.

Unfortunately because the way IBrowse does spoofing, it still won't work with my online bank account.
I sold my Amiga for a small fortune, but a part of my soul went with it.
