@ShawnBaxe:

Yep, Stinkor's armor is the same as Mechanek's, except for the orange colour.

Original series? No way.. The original series from the early 80's we are talking about here? We must be talking about some other series.. I actually used to collect them as a kid, i remember the original series pre-tv cartoon.
Someone has to state the obvious and that someone is me!

@ShawnBaxe

 Welcome Back, Welcome Back, Welcome Back!!!!
We need more people like you, and I am glad your back.

My ideas:

How about instead of creating New Stuff...........fixing old stuff and enhancing them?

there is awesome software out there that is just no longer supported or abandoned. Software that still kicks butt today but just needs an update.

#1  Video Toaster  (now free source code!)
I'm hoping someone can create the ability on the switcher screen, to assign ChromaFX to every single key on the keyboard, including with SHIFT pressed, and enable them to be pressed very quickly and appear very quickly...............so that you can have Special effects on the tip of your fingers!

See, right now the Toaster can only have 4 ChromaFX at a time, and each one has to be loaded seperately, wich stinks. I want to be able to load them all into memory, and access them in realtime immediately ans as fast as I can press many keys, like playing a piano. THE PURPOSE?  to do live shows.especially Raves, with projector screens, ..................I will be doing all the visuals in realtime. Then I can throw away My Amiga LIVE! board in the trash :-) (just kidding)

#2 SCALA !!!!!

Scala is the single best application in the world for the Amiga. But it's been abondoned. It needs more EX's to control the new hardware and software out there. It needs more wipes. A new collection of backgrounds and animations is needed, as well as brushes and sound effects and music. Sample script too :-)

#3 software for Video capture devices is needed that will allow us to use our frameGrabbers as WebCams..............For instance, I would like to use my VideoMaster (from Microdeal) to chat online with a video camera, so that the person who is talking with me, can see me, and I see him. VideoMaster can capture 30 frames per second, so not a problem. Also you can support the VLab Motion, The LIVE!, ProGrab 24RT?, and other devies, and stream this video through the web!
 Just imagine, an A500 online with Video Conferencing!

#4 VideoTracker is a great peice of software.but needs to be enhanced. It needs to be easier to use...maybe needs a new GUI, kinda like Video Creator for the CD32 (great Program!)

#5 We need a WinAMP Visualization program for the Amiga.............there were many out in the past, but now seem dated. I want one that works great with an A500 or A600, and works even better on AGA machines.  I have a MindEYE, and I have Cycadelic, as well as VideoTracker AGA and other similar stuff.

Hope this is some food for thought :-)

Amiga Makes it Posiible!

@redrumloa:

I've had the figure as a kid. I believe I got it around 1985 or 86. My mom bought it from Italy, together with Skeletor. I used to live in Europe, so perhaps Stinkor may have been something like a Euro only release? :-?

Have you heard of Hollywood?  It has an extension for importing old SCALA scripts and supports 24bit video.  (Maybe a little more than that hot-rod A600 of yours can handle  :lol: )

Hollywood may be able to play Scala scripts, but the interface is nowhere near as good!
 Although I am looking foward to more programs of this type and will probably purchase Hollywood indeed, Nothing can beat Scala's interface. Scala is to Hollywood and PowerPoint, what Workbench is to Windows.  You can't beat it when it's done right. Yes Workbecnch needs to be updated, and Yes Scala needs to be updated (as I suggested to the fellow) But once updated.it's unbeatable.

 By the Way, I have an A4000 68040 with a Toaster, an A1200 with a 68030 33mhz 32 megs, A CD32/SX32 68030 @50Mhz and of course my little Hot Rod A600 :-) I just love the little sucker...............so basically I am trying to say an A600 is not all I have, my A4000 can handle Hollywood with a Gfx card. I merely enphasising that Scala was done right for the Amiga. I don't think people know everything that Scala can do.........Not even the creator themseleves know. It has tons of hidden secrets. This application brings out the best in Amiga. Hollywood is kind of a Power Point clone................I despise PowerPoint and it's interface.......one of the worst I've seen for this type of application. hollywood is similar........but hopefully achieves great results.

Yeah, Stinkor is from the original series.

I happened to catch the new cartoon a couple of weeks ago and it was all about Stinkor. I wondered if the smell was still there, so I went and found the figure in the garage and lo-and-behold... it still smells (from 1984! Unbelievable!).

He was always my favourite  :-D

@leirbag28

Thanks a lot :-)

Improving older software and/or enhance it is definately worth a thought. So, I'll take a look and - if possible - I'll try everyting I can to do it :-) And if I can't get the sourcecode, I'll start from scratch and work as hard as possible to produce some great stuff - perhaps I can manage to develop a software title which could become a well-known name in the Amiga-community. I'm also thinkin' of making it open source with a modified version of the GPL. This would make it possible for other developers to improve my work and to get the best out of free Amiga software (and I think FREE high-quality software is and has always been an important thing on the Amiga). If this idea has become reality, there is one thing developers will need: StormC 4 - cuz I think it's GCC port is great and StormC itself has become a standard (well, it was when I left the Amiga some years ago). SAS/C etc. are too old I think. Uuuh...long text...*drinkin'somejuice*
What's your opinion? May this concept help the Amiga (well...I can only develop for classic OS [3.5/3.9]) to survive and to rise up again? My dream is a Microtrash-free world and the Amiga is the only computer system I'd marry ;-)

.oO(hope my English is not too bad...)

That's true, but the rest of the program is completely tied to the original custom chips.

Not much point in upgrading it - it's still an excellent tool if your target medium is a TV screen, but that's about it.

Thats True.........But thats what makes it one of the programs that take full advantagee of the Amiga.........Plus I believe in Custom Chips............The most successfull computers in the world are the ones with Custom Chips:  Classic Amigas, The Commodore 64 (top selling omputer of all time)  Playstation, Playstation 2, X-Box, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis.)
Now you might be thinking these are just consoles..........if thats True............then Why has Microsoft.the biggest Software company in the world, invested Millions into the X-Box? :-)

Answer......there is a Big Future in custom chips :-)  although only Sony has got it right and as future proof as possible eg. PSOne, PS2, and the coming PS3 will all be compatible. This is how I prefer Future Amigas, just way more powerful.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Yes my Target is TV screen, but I use SCALA for everything...............I use it in place of RainBoot, by creating my own Intros with SCALA and then executing the script before Workbench loads..............I use it as a Kiosk to allow people to play Music Videos through the selection screen I designed................it can be used as a Music Jukbox with MP3 or other formats such as 8svx, Mods, Sids..etc........... I create Music Videos with it in time with the music...................I create Boot Splash screens for programs when you execute them from Workbench.........and its all done through SCALA. For example.....when you load Personal Paint7.1, it basically just loads and pops up.......but my way, I have Done a SCALA script that Loads the Logo for PPaint and some example Art with music..and then executes PPaint to load...so basically when you try to load PPAint..your actually loading SCALA which after doing its splash screens, goes directly to PPaint....................you can even use it for WHDLoad!!!  to show Nice Screen Grabs and aniations of the Game before it gets into it!  way coool.  restore some missing intros!

SCala can do so much..all you have to do is invent it in your mind!

 I once had a startup menu that lets you select to boot a game rather than fully load WB! and I had Various Games in the boot menu.and you can put as many as you want by adding more pages. So I use to play SlamTilt from my HD without having to click any icons or Load WB!

Believe me, SCALA has tons of uses.............you just got to put it to use! :-) :-) :-)

Did I mention that I love SCALA?
