PAWS Portable on eBay
« on: July 10, 2004, 07:35:52 AM »
Not my auction, but a rare Amiga.  Too bad there aren't any pictures to see the condition.

Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(

What an ugly machine this was.

:-D

I think AmigaOne's mini ATX motherboard is the best chance in a long
time to get a viable Amiga laptop.

Next year they are bringing out Ethanol fuel-cell batteries in Japan
so it would be great to have a small, energy efficient Amiga laptop
with ethanol cells instead of NiCad batteries.

I think PAWS should have used an A600 keyboard and a CD32 motherboard.
Did you see the PAWS 4000? It wasn't even luggable it was so big...

;-) ;-)

That would suck just as much as the Paws system & the rest of the Amiga "portables"..

A laptop really needs a laptop motherboard (IE a new design), not a desktop mobo + input devices crammed in a plywood case.

Hmmmm. The other guy that listed this a few months back didn't have pics either. Are they worried that showing you a pic of PAWS will turn you away? Its probably the same guy. Oh well - it would be nice to add to someones collection. $400 Buy It Now isn't that outrageous know of its rarity.

He sent me two pics of it, I went ahead and put them in the gallery since I only noticed one other pic of a PAWS in there, they should be visible soon.  Kinda neat!

This was a good solid built system. They are awsome. Not a laptop to say, but as close as you can get. It still needs AC power to work, but it will fit in a large laptop case.
