Coder about the A1 review
« on: January 24, 2003, 11:38:25 PM »
Hi,

I even saw that on the AmigaOne list there was some talk about my review. The prevent some misunderstandings I will say the following.

In the article I was not complaining about the A1. What I said was just as info for others. Maybe someone migth run into the same problems and
then they know what it is.

I actually had fun working on the problems. There is good support on the A1 Devlist. I am certainly no Linux expert, or an A1 expert.

And about the memory, I did not asked for Kingston memory.

In short, I was not complaining about Eyetech, my dealer or anyone else.

I am happy Coder working with his excellent A1.  :-)

Your enthusiasm shone through enough for your intentions to
be evident to most I think. ;-)

Concerning those CD:s Alan's comment on the AOne ML
is rather interesting.
Seems there is nothing wrong with the original Eyetech
installation disc at least.

Thanks Coder

I think you did a great job on the install and the review. I didn't catch any anger or hammering in your review. Hope you have a great time working with the new Hardware.

Come on OS4 get here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not a big LINUX fan...sorry!

The comments from Alan set the picture straight. Thanks SlimJim.

@Coder

That was a great review.  It is good to hear you are enjoying using  your new system.

I remember the fun I had the first time I tried burning software onto CD's.  I made more than one coaster before I got the knack.

I totally missed your review?!? How'd that happen? I'm of to hunt it down... (rushes off at heady pace)

(UPDATE)

Surely you shouldn't have had any problems straight out of the box, that scares me. :-o  And whats all this reburning original CDs about? :-?

The installer cd is a recordable. And it can happen it's not burned well. Or the system is really picky when it comes to cd's. So reburning a cd from the image should solve it.
